Quoting: KuromiAnyway, i still like it, but it would be better if mystery would be either even thicker or explained better.
I know this is an old thread, but I picked this game up in the Xmas sale and really enjoyed it. People have a valid point about the story being vague. It really helps to track down the background pdf that explains the universe. 48 pages and worth reading if you like the game at all.

The closest experience for me was wandering around in Fallout 3 or New Vegas where you only occasionally meet enemies. The world-building and atmosphere were something I really liked. Not for action junkies, though.

I hope they make more in this universe.

Quoting: scaineIt has its flaws, but I loved the experience. With a bit more polish and more variety in the guns and enemies, this could have been an absolutely massive hit.
I agree!

Edit: Quoted wrong person!

State of Anarchy: Master of Mayhem is a cartoon-styled shoot 'em up that's super cheap and fun

Quoting: liamdaweYou must have found some real edge-case with Steam then, as direct Steam purchases has the Linux data (since I tested it myself directly). Report it to the developer?
I did make a post on the game's steam discussion page. We will see if the dev has any comment.

With over 400 linux games, it isn't like I am a newbie. Running Neon LTS is pretty close to stock Ubuntu but with KDE-Plasma instead of Unity/Gnome. Using Nvidia drivers and an LTS operating system, I get very few problems with games.

Hopefully the dev will figure it out.

Not worth the time to bother refunding it. Too bad.
Where did you buy it from? Not from Steam by the sounds of it, as direct Steam purchases has the Linux content. Only CD Keys do not it seems (purchases outside of Steam).
Yes, it was bought from steam.

Verified files. Uninstalled and reinstalled. No joy.

Quoting: 14Even though I break my rule at times, I really hate buying EA games.
I hate buying E.A. games as well. However, I have made a few (very few) exceptions. This was one of them. I certainly don't regret it.

For any game, you need to read reviews and look into the quality of the dev. Don't just lump all devs together as being the same. However, if the game does not look appealing to you, don't buy it. Just because some of us think it is excellent doesn't mean you should buy it.

Hidden Folks had a sweet free 'Snow' content update, still makes me laugh

This is a great game. I am not much into hidden object games but this is a real work of art. Very funny.

A look at Linux gaming in 2017, an end of year review and Happy Holidays!

Obviously that's an extremely small random pick of games that I like, there's hundreds more good titles that released this year for Linux.
Yes, a great year for games!

Only one I need to add, though: Hollow Knight

;-)

Quoting: lucifertdarkWhy not use it as it was intended by Valve & stop messing about with Snap & Flatpack?
Why not stop asking stupid questions. It's matter of choice. If you don't like it, just don't use it. Simple as that
That is a bit harsh. People are trying to understand the motivations behind the project. That should be encouraged.

Thanks for the heads-up. As always, though, I will wait until it leaves Early Access.

4X strategy game 'Pandora: First Contact - Gold Edition' now available for Linux on GOG, also on sale
8 Dec 2017 at 11:47 pm UTC

Quoting: PhiladelphusHow does it compare with Civilization: Beyond Earth? I was excited for that but somewhat disappointed with it. I like the 4X-on-an-alien-planet vibe though and this looks similar, so while it looks interesting I'd love to hear from people who've played both.
I have the same question. I know Pandora is a little older, but don't know much other than that for comparison.
