Quoting: liamdawe
Quoting: ElvanexI freaking love this game! :) But sadly, I've been having crashing issues with it as well. :/ Hopefully they get it fixed soon.
They replied to me, apparently it's an issue with the NVIDIA 396.24 driver. They're recommending the 390 driver.
Sorry, I realize this reply is a month late. lol. But I actually have an AMD card nowadays, and the crashing has yet to be fixed.

We have a copy of 'Nimbatus - The Space Drone Constructor' to give away to one lucky Linux gamer

I'd probably build a mindless drone. So I can simulate the majority of Earth's population. Lol.

I mean, look at Mojang.
Yes, let's looks at Mojang... Yes, for now it seems all is good with the java version still getting updates and whatnot. However, let's also look at the actual definition of Embrace, Extend, Extinguish, and compare that to the mobile/windows 10/console version of the game...

To quote wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embrace,_extend,_and_extinguish [External Link]
The strategy's three phases are:

Embrace: Development of software substantially compatible with a competing product, or implementing a public standard.
Extend: Addition and promotion of features not supported by the competing product or part of the standard, creating interoperability problems for customers who try to use the 'simple' standard.
Extinguish: When extensions become a de facto standard because of their dominant market share, they marginalize competitors that do not or cannot support the new extensions.
To me, it is quite apparent that they are deep into the extend phase with minecraft... Won't be too much longer until they determine that that java version "no longer offers any benefit to consumers" or some such nonsense.

This looks truly fascinating! =D Kinds sounds a bit like Hand of Fate in some ways... But I'm definitely intrigued. :)

What Linux games are you looking forward to this year? Here's my top picks

Honestly, at this point, I'm too busy playing games I already own, and have too many already on my wishlist to even keep track of upcoming titles anymore... lol. That, and I currently have no money, so it'd be pointless to shop around anyway. :)

What are you playing on Linux this weekend and what do you think about it?

I've been putting 6-10 hours a day into a Mount and Blade: Warband campaign for the last few weeks. :) So probably more of that, or some Ballistic Overkill.

Black Geyser is an interesting-looking RPG that’s being crowdfunded

Quoting: razing32It does look a lot like PoE or maybe a hint of Tyranny ?
Still , i like those things and this looks very good.
Too scared to crowdfund after I have a copy of Kingdom Come gathering dust since they never bothered to port to Linux.
I was also an early backer of Kingdom Come. Thankfully, they honored my request for a refund no questions asked. I'd definitely recommend to anyone else burned by them to also request a refund. Let them know they can't just promise something without delivering.
