Tested the game on two systems (the one on the info and another one with a AMD Phenom X4 965 and a HD 7970 card using Mesa) and apart from a gamma bug that's likely to be fixed soon, the game works very well (well, a 2003 game) never going below 140 FPS.

So wait, Bundle Stars (despite mentioning Linux explicitly in their store filters) does not actually sell Linux keys? That really sucks since I did bought games from them.
Are we really sure about this?

But anyway, I understand the temptation you are faced with when money is scarce. The life outside Linux has its price, you have a family, a kid, few cats, a dog and lots and lots of bills. You like to support Linux and you do everything within your financial power to do so, sometimes more than you can really afford.
The Linux launch might come with a sale, or maybe not. Maybe the guy wanted to make sure he's gonna play the game as soon as it was released on Linux and not wait for a sale...IDK. He spotted a chance to get the game for cheap on Steam and he took it. It wasn't the best thing to do for the Linux sales figures, but at the time it made sense for his family/kid/cats/dog/bills.
Is not something I would do, but I definitely sympathize.

Quoting: liamdaweWasn't meant at you directly :)I know, I haven't bought the game yet, I'm waiting for the Linux launch. The guy you were talking to did.

Quoting: liamdaweNot sure what you mean, why questionable sources?. It was bought from Steam.Quoting: dubigrasuI'm in the middle of finishing an editorial about all of this.Quoting: rustybroomhandleInvalid argument since the game will be on sale again. I know every sale seems like a blink and you'll miss it sort of thing, but really it's not. On Steam the sales run like clockwork. At least two big sales still left this year.I get the point (buying before the Linux launch) but when money is so tight sometimes you can't resist cheap deals.
I personally refrained myself from buying it (there were very good deals on Bundle Stars) because I prefer to buy it from the Feral Store, where I know the money will go to them. If there's also a sale, that's even better.
The fact is, if the price is too high, you shouldn't seek other more questionable sources to satisfy your hobby. At the risk of losing your key if it gets revoked by the developer, or just flat-out being a Windows sale bringing down Linux stats.

Edit: to be more clear, when you're dealing with such high prices, sometimes you can't resist a good deal.

Quoting: liamdaweThere are countries were the game price is ten times higher (relative to the income). How much is Mad Max, 30 Euro? Would you still buy it at 300 Euros to support Feral/Linux?Quoting: ungutknutAnd it's people like you that help to reduce our already small sale count for developers. Nice one, not.Quoting: rustybroomhandleI don't care. Wouldn't have bought it anyway if it wasn't that cheap.Quoting: ungutknutNice! Bought it a few days ago when it was -75% on steam - speculating that it'll be released on linux.Except, now it counts as a Windows sale, and Feral get none of the money for it.
Edit: to be more clear, when you're dealing with such high prices, sometimes you can't resist a good deal.

Hm, judging from Xpander69's video it seems playable at around 55-65 FPS (without recording) and still looking rather good.
