Quoting: LinuxDonaldDoes anyone know how to fix the mouse bug??
Don't know about a fix, but a workaround was to go full-screen off for a sec and then back on.

I'm only interested in the singleplayer part of IM, is there something for me in this update?

GOL Cast: Running And Gunning In A Sandstorm In Spec Ops: The Line

Quoting: wojtek88@dubigrasu I made it possible to run the game thanks to @morbius post few minutes before You wrote Your answer, but anyway thank you for your advice. @mobius thanks for that information also.

At least it is good that VP guys stays in touch with users of their product.
Oh, good.
You know, there is something else that can be deduced from that bug report, actually a speculation from my part.
At one point vpltd-peterm says:
"We will take a look at this when we can!"

To me this sounds like they are really busy with something else, a new port perhaps?
(I know, they are not doing only Linux ports, but one can hope they some have something good cooking for us.)

Quoting: MGOidWell, actually, Wine performance is better than the VP ports.
Can you give some details?
Bioshock is out of the question while for Witcher 2 the eON port works better now (tested myself). It was indeed inferior at launch.

So it must be Spec Ops, what version of Wine did you used for testing?

Quoting: wojtek88I have already written it in the "Spec Ops: The Line Released For Linux, Initial Port Report Included" thread, but I will write it once again - from my point of view this game is must to have in Linux games library if Virtual Programming improve the port.

I have finished this game few days after it was released for Linux and I have to say that for me it was great time. The only problem was that I had serious drops (to 1 fps) on location changes.
Today I have decided to run the game once again and I was unable to even run it. It freezes in menu with 1 fps and it happened even after restart.
This seems very similar with the bug reported by Morbius:

Nice review :)
BTW, increasing the PoolSize is a good practice for all UE ports, native or not.

Quoting: dubigrasuNot sure if the chromatic aberration is really removed actually, you need to test it.
You'll find in the zip a screenshots of the settings I used.
Ah, I see, thanks. Unfortunately chromatic crap is still here :-(.
But I didn’t see blur while running, though.
I've got it working now, if you haven't finished the game you can try this one:

I must say that the game (in my opinion) looks so much better without chromatic aberration.
Also, that green tint that the game had is removed, making it look a bit more natural.
I'm sure that is not what developers intended but hey, what were they thinking with that chromatic aberration anyway? Is just silly...

Brian Fargo Crowdfunds For Classic RPG Series Sequel "The Bard's Tale"

Quoting: ShmerlNo, the satirical Bard's Tale isn't bad - it's a very funny game and is a great self contained story (for me it was the game of the year when it came out for Linux DRM-free). I guess what others meant is that it shouldn't be viewed as a sequel to the Bard's Tale trilogy. I don't think inXile ever viewed it in such light anyway.
Aha, gotcha...thanks.

YES!! What he said.
Wow, is that bad?

The Steam Hardware Survey For May Is Here, It’s Not All Doom & Gloom
3 Jun 2015 at 8:48 pm UTC

I have my theory (or more like a "what if ?" ) about why we don't get this survey too often:

I have rarely received this survey on my old (a year or so) Linux client install but frequently when I create a new Steam Wineprefix (with PlayOnLinux).
So it could be that a fresh Steam client installation process has a higher chance to trigger this survey.

Now, from what I know Linux users tend to keep their systems running and rarely do total re-installs, they just fix what's broken and keep going (Steam Client included in this).
OTOH Windows users are more inclined to re-install their systems...at least at my workplace (and seen it on my friends too) the most common solution for every problem is "re-install Windows" (and again, Steam included).
(not mentioning upgrading your old Windows install to something newer.)

So basically the Windows Steam client is just re-installed more often than the Linux one and triggers this survey more on Windows.
