The last time I ever played and enjoyed a space sim was over two decades ago. This looks absolutely awesome! Definitely a game I'll support.
Going to wait for the GOG release though, can't stand Steam these days. GOG do quite well with early access too, Tangledeep is a good example.

Quoting: LeopardI was going to say you're preaching to the choir... But actually, this must be what mansplaining feels like to women.Quoting: Luke_NukemIf only permission from id would be enough , then yeah. He could. But with Bethesda involved it has no chance.Quoting: LeopardYo know he's ported a heap of AAA already, right?Quoting: dorronI'd go with The Witcher 3 and GTA V (maybe even Red Dead Redemption, but guess that's impossible).Save Red Dead Redemption for RPCS3 ^_^
Doom 2016 would be good if we are talking about AAA's but let's be realistic , Ryan Gordon talks about indie games for sure.
AAA port would be so hard for one man.
Doom 2016 (why the fuck didn't they call it Doom 4) with vulkan and idtech is probably the easier end of the scale.
Vulkan is there , you are right. But did you know that Doom 2016 uses a compability profile for Vulkan and most important ; Vulkan open source driver radv is not there yet.
So with that conclusion , it would still be a pain in the ass.
You can't play that game with Mesa Vulkan , you will Amd Gpu Pro.
On Nvidia side , you are cool. No one is using Nouveau for gaming anyway.

Looks like GOG Galaxy won't come to Linux any time soon, as it's "not a priority"

If you can't control your feelings enough to comment, then don't comment. That screams immaturity.
Many posts here have made some superb attempts at explaining GOG rationale behind their decision, and we should respect that.
I love GOG, they've been the only store I've purchased from for a loooong time just because of their professionalism, great support, and enforcing a standard installer on all games for Linux.

If the jobs didn't require moving to Poland, I'd be applying for the junior C++ dev role (Galaxy client work, requires Linux experience)

So yes, GoG is a fucking bastard

Quoting: GuestSomehow this post made me really sad. I was expecting GOG Galaxy for Linux any time soon (as they wrote).Ask them for refunds mate, and be sure to tell them why!
BTW GOG.com is now selling these "Pinata" things, where you get a random game. I bought 4 Pinatas and guess what: all games are Windows-only. Such a fail. Somehow did not expect that.
Colony sim 'Maia' has another big update improving many aspects of the game, also on sale

I'm always floored by just how damned hard Simon works on his game. Amazing stuff.
I wonder if an "overview" function would be good; a toggle that zooms out to fit the full base in the window - as opposed to zooming all the way out.

Quoting: GuestDid you hear that? It was my point flying over your head. Yes, I know this. I was pointing out that it is just a bit high and drawing comparisons to illustrate this.Quoting: Luke_NukemYou do understand that that's the max power draw, and it's not drawing that much power in most scenarios, right? All high-end graphics cards have high max wattages. Why do you think they make 1200W power supplies? It's for when you're using 4 of these things in SLI/Crossfire.Quoting: operaTDP of 345 Watts is just insane. That's more than my house water pump uses. That's more than *all* the LED lights in my house. That's more than my TV and PS4 combined. That's more than 3x the usage of my current PC. That's almost as much as our house uses at night with gf watching TV and me coding.
That's a fucking insane amount of power to be drawing! I sure as shit won't be getting one.

Really fun game. I just wish they would start optimizing it, it absolutely thrashes all cores on my laptop and uses a fair amount of ram too.
