Game level designers are not the sort of people to get platform news from, Liam.

You need engine devs for that. Or porters.
Why is some guy who hauls baggage supposed to know what's going on? ;)
If I was working at a game developer, I would still expect a level designer to at least know the platforms it was being released on, I mean why wouldn't they know unless the company is tight lipped to employees about such things?
They keep their level designers/makers chained to desks in the cellar and uninformed. I thought you knew this?

Through the Woods no longer coming to Linux due to platform-specific technology

How not to be a good studio;
- Promise/guarantee cross-platform support.
- Take peoples money based on the above.
- Use middleware/libraries/plugins that lock you to one platform.
- Don't tell anyone until the last minute.

AMD Zen looks like it will release at CES in January 2017

The last AMD CPU I had was a Bulldozer hexacore. It wasn't bad, but the power draw was insane! Constant 180w, all the time, I don't think it had power stepping or anything. Pretty stark contrast to the Intel i3 6100 I have now, with 20ish or less watt draw at idle, to 55ish at load. This plus the GTX950 gives me pretty good FPS in games while being low on power use.

If AMD get anywhere close to this, I may consider switching since they are typically more Linux friendly (in some ways).

This game is well worth paying the full price for it.

I think this will more than make up for not being able to play id Software's Rage on Linux.

YAY FERAL!!!

hackmud, a cyberpunk themed text-based hacking simulator is now out with Linux support

Quoting: DrMcCoyNitpick: it's not "h a c k m u d", but "hackmud".

The former is just the normal ASCII latin characters with spaces inbetween. This is not it.

The latter is CJK "fullwidth [External Link]" forms of the latin characters, i.e. each character takes up the space a CJK character would use. In fixed-width fonts, that would be the space of two usual "halfwidth" characters.
You, sir, have reached a new level.
Kinda interesting too.

Quoting: meracoCan we expect minus 50% performance again, as with Tomb Raider?
TR performs pretty darn well after a few patches though. I hit more than 60 consistently in almost the whole game and I'm on a dated card.

Granted though, if you want tressfx and ultra shadows, you're likely gonna need at least a pascal card. But that goes for Windows too.

Poor Meraco got bored of trolling Steam forums. Liam.. looks like he likes his new home.
That guy must be one heck of an annoying, pessimistic basterd irl.

As for Tomb Raider, I get a rock solid 50-60fps, at ULTRA SETTINGS on an Intel i3100 and GTX 950! I may get the very occasional dip to 40fps, but that's not something I notice unless running the benchmark (which mostly sticks at 60fps).
