Gothic RPG roguelike Darkest Dungeon coming soon to Linux
2 Feb 2016 at 9:50 am UTC

it makes me fairly certain that this game will be a lot of fun to play until the frustration (hypothetically) kicks in.
It took me nearly 20 hours of frustration before I uninstalled it from my Macbook. I love the narrator and the lovecraftian theme, but the game mechanics need some serious rebalancing before this game becomes playable again.

I was already thinking about getting a refund on Steam after an hour of playtime, but decided not to since it's the only game I can play on my Macbook witch touchpad in bed before going to sleep. I wish I did get a refund though.

Don't buy this game unless you like to do a lot of grinding, planning and then still get screwed by RNG. If you want fun then go for FTL instead (too bad I finished it a dozen times already).

Natural Selection 2 has a major update, the Linux experience is quite terrible
6 Jan 2016 at 6:56 pm UTC

I too have open-source Radeon drivers and I am happily playing Europa Universalis IV and other games, but Natural Selection 2 crashes during map loading. Shame, I used to like it a lot when I was on Windows. I might even load Windows to spend a couple of hours on this game again now that you made me remember it.

Alien: Isolation Looks Like It's Coming To Linux, Oh God, Don't Make Me Play It
9 Jul 2015 at 9:22 pm UTC

I hate horror games. I am usually too scared to play them. With Alien: Isolation I made an exception, because I love the franchise so much. I peed my pants all the way and finished the story. Great graphics, dense atmosphere and superb voice acting. I will wait and play the DLCs on linux (I have an AMD card though, so maybe not).

Gabe Newell Talks Steam, Vulkan With Support From Blizzard, Source 2 And More

Quoting: Gabe Newell... if other engine manufacturers see stuff in it [Source 2 engine] that's useful for them, well, they can integrate it into their own engines as well.
I am in love with this guy. He is truly one of awesomest game devs in the world.

Quoting: DamonLinuxPLSo maybe you should try other MOBA for Linux with better community (in my opinion) like HoN
Are you serious?! All MOBAs have poisonous communities, but Heroes of Newerth has the worst one of all. All hope abandon, ye who enter here.

Trine Enchanted Edition For Linux Released
13 Dec 2014 at 8:21 am UTC

This game has a perfect balance of gameplay, visuals, storytelling and music. I recommend it to whomever I talk to, but I don't see a reason to buy the enchanted edition for myself other than to support Frozenbyte. They could've at least added some DLC-sized new levels.

DoubleFine Ceasing Spacebase DF-9 Development, Releasing Code For Modders
18 Sep 2014 at 8:14 pm UTC Likes: 1

Quoting: SpeedsterThe game engine is most likely the already-open-source Moai, which Double Fine has used on other projects and which uses Lua for the scripting
If this is true I will be buying the game.

Microsoft Reportedly Buying Minecraft Maker Mojang

Huh, I don't blame him for taking 2bil even if he hates the new Windows.

I am not afraid of Minecraft losing linux support - Microsoft bought Skype too and it still has a linux version - but Notch promised that Minecraft will eventually become open-source and I don't see that happening with Microsoft in charge.

No, it doesn't.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition For Linux Is Still Planned

BG:EE runs on BG2:EE engine, so I would be surprised if they didn't release both games for linux.
