I did the 30$ beta access level but I have no idea how to get my Steam key.

Check their website. They repeatedly hit my e-mail address a bit after the Kickstarter closed asking me to create an account on their website to claim my package, so that might be what you need to do.

Also, while I feel the game isn't quite full-on Descent yet, it's getting there, and it seems to be moving reasonably quickly.
