Quoting: MblackwellI hope everyone enjoys the game! Everyone at Voidpoint and 3D Realms has been working extremely hard to bring a kick-ass classic experience true to the engine's legacy.
Will this be coming to GOG or itch.io?
Yes to GOG. It is already available DRM free directly from 3D Realms.

Quoting: EndeavourAccuracyThey really couldn't finish the game first, and have to release into Early Access, huh?
No money left to add Steam Cloud support (or Achievements)?
I'm willing to bet Voidpoint just reused a (mildly tweaked) old 3D Realms engine.
Other than the nostalgia factor, nothing about this looks appealing.
Thanks for supporting Linux, I guess. Now, can we get more real games?
The Preview Campaign is a complete multi-hour, replayable campaign and even has an extra goodie when you complete it. Buying now gets you access to it plus the much larger Single Player Campaign.

This is not like other Early Access products.
So what you're saying is that it's similar to the old Shareware model? :P

Railway Empire adds a free new scenario and plans a huge map for the free play mode

Happy to hear this. When I first played the game, I was definitely in the "do not like" camp. I played it some more, and wandered into the "it's okay, but not great" camp. Looks like they'll be making some progress in moving me further.

Lazy Galaxy is a perfect mix of strategy and 'clicker' game for a tired mind

What have I become?
*cue Nine Inch Nails music video of Liam clicking stuff in a game*

"What have I become..."

*listlessly clicking computer stuff in unkempt room in black and white*

"My sweetest friend..."

*close up of screen, cut to face, black and white*

"Everyone I know goes away in the end..."

Railway Empire released with same-day Linux support

I've changed my opinion somewhat. It's very good for what it is, though there are still finicky, fiddly bits that annoy me, and I definitely wish they'd done more with it in certain ways, but it's okay.

Voxel Tycoon, a new strategy game about transportation, building factories, and mining will come to Linux

I've been waiting a long, long time for a good, modern OpenTTD-like or Railroad Tycoon-like game, and they just keep missing the mark a bit.

Hopefully someday someone delivers.

The developer of RUINER confirms the Linux version is being worked on now

Well, I hope they actually ship on Linux, I've been looking forward to buying this. Cyberpunk craziness? I've been waiting for years.

Steam hits another record of over 18.5 million concurrent users online

Quoting: gustavoyaraujoThey could just give the SteamOS users better offers, some discounts if you buy a game and play it on Linux. I think that would be a big step to make the platform more attractive.
That would probably be really, really easy to work around.

A different way to do things might be to cut down on or eliminate the first $X of royalties or whatever that a developer pays to Valve if those sales go towards the Linux platform.

I dunno.

... They must be spending a fair bit on blow and hookers or something... a common developer success trap.
From what i have seen of their offices it would more likely be Sweets and energy drinks.
Eh, same thing.

The list fluctuates of course and it would be better if PUBG supported Linux, but sadly that feels like a dream right now.
Wasn't it the ceo who said they want to bring pubg to every platform conceivable? I'm pretty sure he did not have Linux in mind, but you could try to hold them to that. :D

Wine 3.0 RC2 is officially available with bug fixes for Fallout 4, Far Cry 2 & 3 and more

Quoting: TheSHEEEPIs there any reason to go with "official" wine instead of wine-staging? I always use the latter and never had any problems.
Not every fix in Wine staging works well for some games. Some actually make things worse.
Hmh. Sometimes it makes performance better, but badly hurts other stuff. Like talking of the 1.12.1 WoW client, where light sources seem to be fucked up in gallium-nine. If you "move down" the camera to be closer to the floor, it adjusts the light sources with the camera instead sticking on the character. Which .. hardly ever can be right ;-).
This sounds both amusing and annoying.
