This reminded me to check up on these guys: https://github.com/rwengine/openrw [External Link]
It's an open reimplementation of the GTA III-series engine; but they've been making *really* slow progress over the past 5-6 years.

Well, I'm extremely impressed.

one thing - Let's hope the a-holes at Bethesda won't try to shut this down.

Now that would be interesting to see.

A minuet is composed for and named after a type of dance. :)
Yeah but a dance isn't just for the eyes, is it? Err... (Yeah a silly oversight; especially considering that I've written a few minuets myself, aeons ago.)

Quoting: Eikebut they're not famous for their narratives, are they...?

Still, worth a look.
They do take the overall context-setting narrative very seriously though. Sure, in each game the story doesn't dictate how the individual puzzles work; but the experience of solving that sort of puzzle makes a lot more sense given the setting (including all the text you have to read (the manuals, the 'zines')), & the minimal plot.

Quoting: rustybroomhandle2.8 is the result of a dedicated effort to improve the usability of the app for both new and veteran users. Now, if only we could get the same treatment for GIMP (along with a name change).
Why a name change though? 'GIMP' is perfectly fine.

In the demo video, examples of everday usage start at around 30 minutes.
I've no idea what this would be like for extended reading & writing sessions; but it does look pretty intriguing.
