Quoting: NeoTrantorThere's a motorbike by Buell calles SB12S Lightning (or Lightning Long).
And it's known to the select few, that this used to be American McGee's favorite motorbike model.

You gotta give it to Feral; they've managed to capture so many levels of id software lore with a single hint.

Also, few people know this, but one of John Carmack's many talents is that he's a virtuoso trumpet player -- and his favorite instrument happens to be the 'System Blue 12S; or the SB12S' [External Link]

So, discussion over, I believe?

Also, '808' could be read as 1337 for 'Bob', which used to be the name of John Romero's dog back in the day. Serious.

Quoting: salamanderrakeCould be some construction equipment, http://heavycherry.com/machineinfo/kramer/-808_series_3-1999-construction_machine-mobile_digger.html [External Link] and http://www.equipmentspecialistsinc.com/ecom-prodshow/SB12S.html [External Link]
So ... construction work in Mars ... wasn't Quaid a construction worker?

Could it ... could it be a remake of this? Like the new HD versions of the Giana Sisters and such?

Quoting: Kimyriellebut seeing Bethesda supporting Linux would make me hop in circles like a bunny
Ironic, since the new DOOM doesn't allow bunnyhopping.

... I'll see myself out, thank you.

Has Bethesda sworn a blood oath, never to publish anything on Linux? Even if it's something they haven't developed, which already has the technical groundwork for a good port? I mean, we're living in an age where we have friggin' ubisoft titles on Linux; so I wouldn't rule out DOOM from the start. (Especially since all the rave reviews it's been getting touched my nostalgia nerve ... I was never a big fan since it gave me motion sickness, but back in '93 a friend and I played the shareware levels of DOOM and Wolfenstein 3D to exhaustion.)

So, the hint says 'Let's Get It Started' ... to which the fan response should of course be 'Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'' ... and that was on the soundtrack to VICE CITY!!!

Quoting: KeyrockAs for SB12S. Superbowl 12? That was won by the Dallas Cowbows defeating the Denver Broncos... I dunno, I got nothin' :P
Is there a game about cowboys battling dinosaurs in space?
