Heroic Games Launcher v2.15 has expanded GOG support, EA games from Epic Store support

GOG failing to provide good Linux support for non-Linux-native games (via Wine or Proton launcher) was the reason I moved to Steam years ago when they started supporting Linux.
Bought many games over the years, so it's not viable to move back to GOG.

Canonical detail improvements the Steam Snap, work to advance gaming continues on Ubuntu

Just tried Ubuntu 24.04 last week, installed Steam from snap and had 2 bugs:
1. I couldn't add more than 1 item to storage (1 + default), which made it unusable for me.
2. I couldn't add Proton-GE, it didn't see folder where Proton-GE was located.

Removed the snap package, installed the .deb package from Steam - and everything worked fine.

The Warlords series and the five original Close Combat games appear on Steam

I played Warlords 2 and 3 a lot, they were a few of my favorite games at the time.
I bought the Steam package of all 3 games, and although they do run on Linux via proton, from my experience they are far from being optimized.
Believe it or not, but those ancient games run slowly on my machine (that runs Dead Island 2 without issues), and the mouse moves weird\not smooth.

mgregor posted a good easy and tested (by myself too) way to not install epic services on start:
https://steamcommunity.com/id/mgregor/recommended/934700/ [External Link]

Make sure the Epic Store program is uninstalled then do this:
Before launching the game for the first time, go there -> "C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dead Island 2" and delete the EpicGameLauncher folder.
Then open the "DeadIsland.ini" file in notepad and modify the "NoOperation=0" to "NoOperation=1"
If the epic game launcher is already installed on your computer, uninstall it before doing the steps above.
Play the game without that bloatware = ez

So far runs great on Linux Mint using GE-Proton-9-2.

Skullgirls developer Lab Zero lays off everyone who hadn't quit

They had a great and very successful fighting game Skullgirls,
But instead of creating a sequel they created a new game none had asked for...and failed.
So sad. :(

The fighting game Fantasy Strike just had a sweet update, taking another look

I also liked this unique fighting game, but when I played it several months ago - some characters had some "cheap moves" that the AI couldn't counter and I could win easily by spamming them.
But the game was stable with a very few small bugs (which they might have fixed by now)
Overall I recommend this game very much.

Is the mice buggy for you too?
every time I move it the camera goes to "bird fly" view.
And I must use it to view the road ahead and on the sides.
It just jumps all the time when I move it and tries to fight my command.
