Hello,
Does anyone know if "Dead Island Riptide" will be available for Linux too?
I'm thinking about buying the bundle while it's on sale.

DRM Boosts Profits & It's Here To Stay
19 Apr 2014 at 7:32 am UTC

There was an IAMA with DRM developer.
He says that their job is to make a DRM that will last as long as possible because most of the sales of major titles happen in the first month and than they drastically decline.
So if you have a DRM and can't pirate the game for a month, then you are more likely to buy this game.

Now, I am not supporting DRM in any way, just explaining what the publishers think.

Love the graphics, but the gameplay seems dull - you just click on the map and it's done.
No animations, no characters, could have been so much better:

Developers And The Dreaded Platform Listing Of "PC"
17 Nov 2013 at 6:50 am UTC

I agree with you here,

For users PC was always Windows, most of them don't even know about other OS's.
And while in truth Mac IS a PC - there should be some difference in names for those OS's, and while it should be "Windows and MacOS", historically DOS was there first.
And as we know DOS was installed on all IBM's PC's at that time and it still wasn't DOS vs Mac at that time, it was a PC vs Mac.

It's similar to the stupid fact that even today we keep calling "Native Americans" in America, "Indians" even trough we know for centuries now that America isn't India and American natives aren't Indians  -we just damn used to that misleading name.

Good news, but this game cost a fortune ($60), although now for a limited time you can get it for "only" $45).
Shame the AAA titles cost THAT much.

ID Software Moving Further Away From Linux, QuakeLive Going Native
8 Nov 2013 at 1:23 pm UTC

Why would anyone play QuakeLive, which is based on Quake 3 Arena, a 14 year old game!?
Sure it's sad that id software is no longer Linux friendly, but I won't cry about this game and you shouldn't too.

P.S
id software said that only a very insignificant % of QuakeLive players, are Linux users.
