Get a bunch of Rhythm games in this game bundle

Quoting: soulsourceI spent the whole weekend playing Melody's Escape 2 (I'm exaggerating of course, but you get the idea). It's an almost Zen-like experience, listening to one's own music collection and pressing buttons in the rhythm.

It runs well on the Steam Deck too. I mounted the music folder from my desktop via sshfs, and it works good enough. Takes a second or two to load the files over network, but that's only while selecting the track. No slowdown or stutter during actual gameplay.
Thanks for the hint. Kind of neglected the bundle since I already own Trombone Champ and never heard of the others. A Zen-like rhythm game that runs well on the deck, though, is really tempting and the bundle costs less then that game...

Quoting: KlaasNo tooting about Trombone Champ? I'm surprised.
I really don't know why Trombone Champ is not verified. Sure, gyro can't really compete against M+K, yet who cares if you only compare gyro to gyro. It's hillarious and that discord channel gives you endless tooting joy with thousands of custom songs.

UK CMA blocks the Microsoft takeover of Activision

Quoting: damarrinThis not about Activision or ‘fixing’ it. This is about Microsoft not accumulating any more power in the gaming space. They own the PC OS everyone uses to game, they have a console, they have a shitton of studios.

Sony is not a monopoly in any market, MS is and that’s why they’re scrutinised and treated differently.
Don't forget GamePass, a very effective tool to bind users.

Great, sounds like I might finally get into the game again. Random attacks were really frustrating for me.

Quoting: SupayOh no, I literally just got 100% achievements a few weeks ago. Time to redo that!
Congrats!
I found that the last DLC made me want to play the game less, exactly because *finishing* the game suddenly seemed unachivable. Now, after weeks without Vampire Survivors, I consinder myself clean :dizzy:

Atari are acquiring Night Dive Studios

Quoting: Craggles086What Atari classics do we want to see remastered?

The last decent Asteroid’s game I saw was the one released by Ambrosia Software, that was later open sourced.

And there was a two player variation I seem to remember having a lot of fun with on the PC, cannot remember the name as it was released about the time when Worms and Worms Reloaded were still very popular, so probably ancient.
Wait. Worms isn't popular any more?

Fanatical have another fantastic game bundle for Steam Deck

Quoting: PenglingI grabbed this just for Horizon Chase Turbo, which I've been wanting for a while! Then it helped me to discover Speed Limit, and Thunder Wolves, so I grabbed those as well because they sound like they're right up my alley, too.

As I mentioned on the forums after discovering it, if you grab Chenso Club, which Fanatical is currently giving away for free, you'll also receive a voucher for 7% off, which can be applied to any of Fanatical's game bundles, including this new one.
Tried quite a lot of these retro racers over the years, Horizon Chase Turbo rolls them all over. Hardly ever has a racing game kept my attention like this one.

MiLE HiGH TAXi out now blending Crazy Taxi with The Fifth Element

Quoting: maggotinfestedWell, I thought I'd try this out myself. The price didn't seem to bad at $15 USD. Well, it's a trainwreck. Ignoring that already know bugs, the physics are circa 1990, the music is horrible and EXTREMELY loud compared to the sounds...and there is no volume controls or any way to turn it off. On top of that, its stuck at some ultra low resolution making it a big block, ugly mess on my 34" 4K monitor. There are no options to change the resolution at this time. For me, these were both deal breakers. I played for a total of 7 minutes before refunding it. Too bad, too. But I can't just give you my money becuase I feel sorry for you. Just avoid this for now. Maybe we'll see some major improvements in time, but seeing this is a single dev, I don't really expect these to happen any time soon.
While missing basic options seems lazy, I get the impression, the dev should focus on how to make the game fun rather then adding options - for now. Really sad. I think this technically is quite a feat for a a single developer. This game seems like a showcase of what happens if you design around a marketable gimmick or *grand idea* rather then focusing on fun in the first place.

EmulationStation Desktop Edition 2.0 is out now
23 Mar 2023 at 9:39 am UTC

Quoting: LoftyIm trying out EmulationStation Desktop right now instead of vanilla retroarch, the one issue im having is that i can't directly exit a game back to ES ? The idea is to click the analogs down at the same time i believe but this does nothing. i can press the home key on my 8bitdopro2 and bring retroarch menu up though and then manually exit the game then retro arch.. seems clunky.

is there a way to bring up some sort of ES UI and exit directly back ? i did do some searching but didn't find anything other than the aforementioned analogue clicks.
Iirc, start+select should do the trick. At least they do with EmuDeck
