I'm quite hyped about the XR updates. Can't wait to play around with them :D
I think this is finally the release where I won't run against a wall and decide to wait for the next version :D

There's no shame in sinking time into a good game
Not shame. It just makes me feel kind of empty afterwards. :dizzy:

Quoting: missingnoAny word on a native build? I saw that it's in Love2D so it should be easily portable.
You can basically port it yourself. The game is in Portmaster and I think their extractor is open source.

Quoting: pilkSeconded, or thirded I guess. This is an actually good launcher idea, because there's been a couple times during sessions that the host forgets which pack has which games.
This is something I had actually hoped for before. Switching between the bundles to go for your favorite games during a "party" was always kind of messy.

Not sure what to think about this. I kind of wish it had touchpads, but on the other side, the only situation I really need controllers is in local multiplayer and touchpads are kind of less usefull at that.
This is probably not for me. I'm still glad they are coming. Good times.

Quoting: constIs WiVRn compatible with Pico Headsets?
It is compatible.
I do not have a Pico to test, if you have issues, please report them on Github.
Will do. After a little hassle with understanding rustup, I compiled envision and it now runs. Will test in the evening. Fingers crossed it runs better then alvr :D

Is WiVRn compatible with Pico Headsets?
Quoting: XytovlBiased opinion (WiVRn developer here):
WiVRn for plain OpenXR on Linux is the easiest, there's AUR and Gentoo/guru packages to install the server. The client is an apk to install through adb.

If you intend to use OpenVR or Wine/Proton, you also need OpenComposite [External Link] to do the OpenVR -> OpenXR translation.

If running under Steam, there's also some quircks due to the pressure vessel sandbox: every path under /usr needs to be replaced by a corresponding one under/run/host/usr: for OpenXR manifest location, OpenComposite location.
This means for system installed WiVRn you probably need to set XR_RUNTIME_JSON=/run/host/usr/share/openxr/1/openxr_wivrn.json.
You also need to whitelist the socket used to communicate with server: PRESSURE_VESSEL_FILESYSTEMS_RW=$XDG_RUNTIME_DIR/wivrn_comp_ipc.

There's also Envision [External Link] that can build WiVRn and OpenComposite, then do the configuration steps. However there's an incompatibility between the appimage version and WiVRn so you have to build from source.

Khronos Group seeking proposals for paid work to improve OpenXR for Godot Engine

Awesome. I'm currently working on a XR game with godot, so I'm really happy to see this. 4.3 already has some desperately needed improvements like antialiasing support on the way, so there is hope Godot can be used as a good entry point in the future. At the moment, it's sadly still quite rough.
