The only fucked up thing is what the russians are doing in ukraine.

Quoting: miroWhat the actual fuq?If russians do not want to get laughed at they could just leave or surrender and not slaughter anything that lives.
Is this for real? You do know that this is designed to kill people, not in a cs-fashion but for real. And all with the currently f'ed up narrative and politics, you are cracking jokes with it.
I can not believe this, what a shame.

I really enjoy Everspace 1, so I immeadiately bought this when it came out of Early Access.
But then again I don't really care if it's native or Proton. If it runs, it runs and this is supported by the devs, so I don't see why I should care.

Hell, I'd say probably most people dislike loot boxes in games. And most people don't even buy those.
It would take a massive effort of the entire gaming community to fully boycott launchers. But most people don't care, because for most they're just an extra button to press and people want to play their games.
Valve could step up and say "No more launchers on our platform!" but I wonder how well that would turn out for them...

Quoting: TermyOf course. The problem is that for the vast majority of people, launchers are just a minor inconvenience.Quoting: LeflI'm not arguing for launchers, I'm arguing against boycotts.Without boycotts, publishers won't step down from their BS launchers though...

If i would just straight up boycott every game that has a launcher I would never have played some of my favourite games.

Quoting: TermySure, but then the game does not work and I don't buy the game. With things like protondb I can just check beforehand.Quoting: LeflA launcher only shows up at worst twice. No, at worst, the launcher doesn't show up at all while being needed without justification.

What really sucks though is games using their launchers to update instead of pushing the updates to steam.
But that still beats pirating games.

Quoting: TermyNo, I just buy the game anyway. A launcher only shows up at worst twice. Before the game is started and maybe after it closes.Quoting: LeflLaunchers suck, yes. But they're not going to stop me from playing a game I want to play. That's something everybody has to decide for themselves. I hope, you are saying this with a parrot on your shoulder though ;)

Quoting: TermyBut as some are insane enough to not boycott 3rd party launchers, it is nice to see it being tweaked either way. Valve is really putting in the effort.Launchers suck, yes. But they're not going to stop me from playing a game I want to play.
