Installing sdl mixer should fix up that error in theory.
As far as multiplayer taking up dev time, we will not really be using resources on it until around the time we are in the polishing phase of the campaign. It will be a post release thing. We are going to try and have some kind of beta for multiplayer around launch.
Single player comes first.
As for cross play we will have to see how everything shakes up.

The installer on the 3DR website for whatever reason was packaged as an EXE, but it's really just a self extracting archive. You can extract the contents to whatever folder you would like and it should be good to go as far as I know. You might need to set maiden.bin (or maiden_nodrm.bin, can't remember which file is included) as an executable to get it going I don't make the packages so I'm sorry I can't give you more advice than that. If things aren't working and you can tell me the exact problems you are having (and even if when running there are errors) I will do my best to help.

I hope you guys saw the new shots on the website:
You are part of the team, right?
In that case, do you know if one could sign an NDA and sell their soul to get a source of your version of the Build engine?
I'd love to play around with that - I know it is probably based on jfbuild, but I have a feeling there is way more to your version.
Quoting: KristianIt is based on EDuke32: http://eduke32.com [External Link]That's right!
Quoting: Whitewolfe80It's a classic game in the style of games like Duke3D, so while there is technically a story and progression it's not all explicitly told to you. It is not, however, an arena shooter, or even in that style (like Serious Sam, Painkiller, Doom 2016, etc). Levels and encounters are very intentionally designed. Design wise it's definitely a child of the 90s.Quoting: JolltThis game will be -is- on my Top 5 games of the last 15 years, not kidding.I got to ask as from what i have seen gameplay wise is it a shooting gallery and story is an after thought or is there a narrative.I am not knocking that type of game its just not my jam i play games for the story and setting.
From the preview we can really know it's going to be an amazing game. Can't get that awesome box but if they release more digital stuff I'm getting all the deluxe I can hahha.

Just because something is technically possible doesn't mean it is worth the potential time and money investment.

To be fair, from experience GOG controls every aspect of your release. They control the store page (images, text, etc), the sales, even the packaging - you send them files and they decide how it is packaged and distributed. Betas can be effectively impossible, and updated versions can take arbitrary amounts of time to be built and put online once sent.
Along with a few other things I can't talk about, I can see why some developers wouldn't bother.

Isn't Life is Strange: Before the Storm using Unity?
He probably has enjoyed working with the Unity team, and in collaborating with them to resolve issues on both ends found it was a good fit.

Search for the words "backup" and "copy" in the Steam TOS and be amazed.

The GOG ToS specifies that they have a right to revoke your access to their services for any large number of reasons. How will you download your games then?
Btw, you specifically skipped the passage where Steam clarifies what the automatic updating is for and that you are agreeing to THAT as part of the ToS. And the ToS also doesn't specify whether you are or are not allowed to copy software, except to explicitly state in a few places that they expect you to maintain backups yourself and without warranty.

I can make a tar.gz of any steam game I have installed (which, like with GOG can be installed via command line tools) without DRM, move it anywhere I want, and expect it to work later.
So not only is it like GOG, but in some ways it is better because I can make my own packages of whatever version is on Steam in whatever way I want at any time I want. Steam just gives me files, what I do with them is my choice.
