The Linux-powered Ataribox pre-order launch has been 'officially paused'

Maybe their waiting for Kernel 4.16 or something. When it comes to AMD hardware, anyone running anything other then 4.15+ is going to bleed tears unless they have a beast of a videocard to compensate for the huge losses.

I'm not too salty about a delay, even if its 6months. At least they know there is a issue and aren't just pushing a product out the door to cash in on the clueless plebs who buy in without fully researching it (many do this).

ARK: Survival Evolved is currently broken on Linux, water apparently fixed and ARK: Aberration released

MS has paid allot of money into developers to do DX12, that is why it often gets support first.

The developer needs to put on the breaks for a month and focus on releasing a Vulkan update. I suspect most the staff are content producers and not graphics api programmers which is why it hasn't happened yet.

Quoting: ShmerlRadv performance is good, but it can be improved still.
I wouldn't say this, currently RADV performs around %20 slower then OPENGL in most examples, far from good.

I think things will get REAL interesting once the DX11-Vulkan project starts to function for games. Hopefully RADV driver for AMD can make some improvements before then because atm only NVIDIA's vulkan drivers offer superior performance.

Something for the weekend: The X Franchise on Steam is free for a few days and on sale
8 Dec 2017 at 1:35 pm UTC

I have X Rebirth on GOG, but waiting for a upgrade package to get the DLC.

The issue with the game is, 1 cockpit control ship for entire game, 1 narrative support (boring and annoying fast), and they brought in this stupid space highway system.

The X franchise needs to invest in OPEN space and just let the players go where ever the f**k they want to without this fixed transit lane crap! its cheap, unrealistic, and annoying. Computers have been 64bit for some time, you can make space infinite basically now! space as a level loading highway forcing game style imo is rather annoying unless its trying to do the FTL thing.

Here's another way to look at the Linux market share on Steam

PUBG could make it to Linux someday, but GTAV is a no no, pretty sure rockstar are quite anti linux.

NVIDIA has confirmed a driver bug resulting in a loss of performance on Linux

The testers should really be comparing performance metrics with many of the AAA and popular titles across at least several previous generations of drivers. So I really don't know what sort of testing their doing, do they play games and run benchmarks even?

Meanwhile AMD still struggles getting good fps in many of these games, Deus Ex being one of the big offenders, makes the VEGA cards look REAL bad!

Wine 3.0 RC1 should be out in early December, final release likely in January

Well its never really a finished project, they could spend the next year messing with fixing DX11 and it still wouldn't be ready.
