I hear the uproar is mostly focused around not being able to use custom mods anymore (there were allot).
I don't know how VRCHAT works but I thought you can connect to a private server but apparently not? it all goes through a central hub which has blocked mods due to EAC.
To be fair there were people making bad mods that ruined other peoples experiences (we talking a handful of people, overall community is not being toxic with bad mods).
Whats a bad mod? well you can make mods that crash peoples computers! lmao

Had allot of promise, I was a backer I believe and followed the development.
Basically the developer lead himself into a mental breakdown of sorts, was quite unfortunate, I honestly think he just needed to get some help with the project EARLY on instead of trying to do it all himself!

They should add a option to SteamOS for Steam-Deck or handhelds where you can in compatibility section also choose OPTIMAL settings for specific fps, say options for 30/40/50 and 60fps which automatically apply specific optimized config files to the games with optimal presets. That be quite nice.

No hope of getting a Steam Deck if your an Australia. I know some BIG USA Streamers who are STILL waiting for theirs.
At this point I've just settled on waiting for Steam Deck 2 which will have a RDNA3 APU and likely twice the graphical power to boot.

I think the big issue is they made the Linux version use OpenGL instead of Vulkan which is a byproduct of using OLDER engine versions. Developers often struggle updating to newer engine versions especially when it involves moving graphics APIs.

Quoting: LeopardTheir Bards Tale port for Linux has an input bug that makes character run in a direction non stop for years. I've tried to reach them via multiple channels but they don't just don't respond. You mean the newer bards tale V? I never experienced such a issue, thought it did have performance issues in areas.

Yeah make it so you hold down a button for 5seconds to unmount the SD. That be the easy way. Add some UI notifications when someone plugs in/out the SD so they get familiar with the process.

Microsoft has been trying very hard lately to prevent machines from installing Linux natively via hidden bios options that most normies would have no clue about or even risk touching no matter how much they wish to try or move to Linux.
So any movement towards supporting more Linux and Proton stuff will be overall good in the long run for Linux as a echo-system; regardless of how much the extreme/hardcore workstation productivity users protest! (you know the ones that believe Linux is only for them and translation layers are the devil! Native or go home, we will bomb your house... those people...)

I've been mostly waiting for game to come out of EA.. Not sure if it ever will.
It's meant as a pre-cursor to a MUCH BIGGER classic/action RPG game which was shown off a eon ago. (it looked really good but I think its been mostly shelved until Examina is done...)
