You can enable compression on the ARK folder and it all shrinks down to 30-40GB I think.

It's a shame the developer didn't move to Vulkan API for the game. It really could have used it instead of staying on DX11. No point doing it now with ARK2 just around the corner I guess.

Once RDNA3 handhelds hit the market (ie. Steam-Deck-2) then this will probably get another boost.

I'm just going to wait for AMD's next-next APU lineup see what handheld vendors can do with RDNA3.

You could probably just do something similar by making a custom shortcut that executes a command, I presume this is just launching plasma xserver basically. Things will get much easier when it all moves to wayland, once that is 100% ready.

I don't know what app you can setup to make custom shortcuts in the steamOS default mode, probably a terminal way of doing it.

System Shock 2 was a little less claustrophobic which probably helped it being more playable for many people. It felt less like traditional Descent like games.

Quoting: DrMcCoyWhich is part of the reason I'm not giving Larian any money anymore, yes.
Cold.

Can you really blame developers for backing out of not releasing native linux versions given its less then %1 market share at the time?

These developers do not have unlimited money and time to spend so I give most a pass provided they don't put up deliberate anti-linux wall stoppers like custom version of AntiCheat that seem to specifically block linux support! or some other dotnet/similar windows library that is hostile towards linux (like devs using it for game launchers...terrible practice)

Some new interesting Steam Deck Verified titles, there's now over 3,200 confirmed Playable

I've got a Loki Max pre-order set for Q4 so it will be interesting to see how that compares. Its basically a Switch but with a 6800U APU. Not sure if its meant to be faster, sounds like it with more CPU cores at least.

The company ships to Australia direct, so no issues. Valve force Aussies to go via 4th party methods which basically doubles the cost by the time it gets to house.

Only two things to be concerned about,
1-No back paddle buttons, (who uses these and for what? driving games?)
2-Not sure how well the OS will work, I'd prefer SteamOS over Windows in most cases.
