Stadia gets exclusive HUMANKIND beta, ARK: Survival Evolved heading to Stadia Pro + more

The ARK devs are a odd bunch. Seemingly extremely lazy to not implement Vulkan after many years of saying they would, and other fixes, but at the same time release DLC and other games...

Microsoft Edge now available on Linux in Preview

Quoting: rustybroomhandlePart of a process by Microsoft to shift some of their stuff to be based on open source projects. A cost cutting measure that some suspect may eventually extend to their operating system, another source of money-bleed.
Hmm, and people think its impossible for MS to port Windows over to Linux.

Seems like there is a pretty big incentive for Microsoft to eventually adopt a Linux Kernel backend to their windows platform, and that is open-source and the fact you'd end up with free bug reporting and fixing from the community whereas atm MS has to front up allot of money still to build their windows platform and keep it working, by themselves.

I doubt this will happen anytime soon however, it's more likely we will see a Linux Distro spin from Microsoft where it slowly gets native DLL support and other things until one day it just works like windows10.

You may want to avoid Linux Kernel 5.9 if you want fully supported NVIDIA drivers

Fortunately I'm on Manjaro whom actually consider AMD/NVIDIA driver compatibility before pushing a new kernel.

Steam Play Proton 5.13-1 Linux compatibility layer up and ready for testing

Something odd about this proton, it doesn't copy files into the compatdata area anymore, infact only makes the folder but ignores all else.. Seems its using a universal proton folder? who knows where.

OH, that is very odd. Its using the .wine folder. Could be a issue with compatibility add-in none-steam-games.

I hope Mangohud dev can update their project to work better with proton, you know without the crashes. :)

Cyberpunk 2077 confirmed for Stadia on November 19

Imagine buying this on Stadia, and a year from now Google pulls the plug like so many other of their projects.

Everyone just looses all the games they paid for because you were just paying for a service after all.. Going to be interesting to see the reactions and backlash (if any) when that happens. (and it will)

Also CDPR isn't Linux hostile, they support it with their release packaging system and have released on Linux in the past. I would say that CDPR has lost faith in Linux support is more accurate then being hostile.

I'm not sure if this game is going to be DX12 or Vulkan yet, hopefully the later. (would make sense for non MS platform support)

Anyway I have a PC Steam copy of Cyberpunk (I think) which will be released next month sometime, but I won't be playing it until I upgrade my GPU for better 4k resolution support (1080TI struggles sadly).
Atm retailers are gouging the crap out of people with the 3080 cards so I might just hold off playing until mid 2021...

I hope someone gets RTX titles working under Linux soon, that be neat. (via proton I guess)

Island survival game Stranded Deep gets a huge update expanding the world

That's good, I know the developer was a bit burnt out and discouraged to finish this game (not that its finished yet?)
