Yup. I might buy my first Pi because of this. I've borrowed friends' before, but I never bought one because I wouldn't have put it to use.
A bit off-topic, but it's rPi-relevant:
I was in the same boat, kinda. Had a Pi lying around, with no real use for it. Then a friend showed me Pi-hole [External Link]. Network wide ad-block. Highly recommended.
This is a cool tool, but it doesn't look unique to the Pi. I have a rack-mount server with quite a few virtual machines in my house, so the Pi doesn't really have an advantage here either. Cool suggestion though. Maybe I'd run that in a VM.

I really like the look of this game. I hope the developer is successful in his mission.

Added to wish list. I think my kids would love it. I'm sure I'd like it as well, it's just that I'm subscribed to EVE right now.

Total War: EMPIRE and Total War: MEDIEVAL II just got Definitive Editions

Empire is the only Total War game where I've played through the campaign. It was really great fun! Since then, I haven't been drawn to single-player strategy games. I know that there are co-op modes in the Shogun and Warhammer ones, but my friends don't want to commit. :( Anyway, I will echo the comment that, if you were thinking about getting Empire, do it and play it!

7 Days to Die experimental alpha 17 due next week and it's a massive overhaul to the game

I played this game for a short while with some co-workers and I got bored somewhat quickly. I also couldn't stand the ugly graphics. The fact that the game hasn't been updated in a year means that I don't regret forgetting about the game for so long. If this huge update is cool and runs well enough, I will jump and and check it out. I didn't find the current version enjoyable enough, even with people to cooperate with.

Surviving Mars: Space Race expansion and Gagarin free update have released, working well on Linux

Ah, this is great. I did not know that there was a free weekend on Steam! I've been interested in Surviving Mars ever since it came out. A demo might make me buy it. w00t

Valve has expanded the Steam Play whitelist to include DARK SOULS III and plenty more

I'm really glad to see DS III on the list! However, I'm not sure I would buy the forever edition since I already played through it on PS4 and sold it. That's an advantage with console games that Steam can't touch. SteamDB [External Link] shows that the lowest the price has gotten is $15. Maybe I'd double dip if it went to $5 or $10.

For those who have the patience for a challenge and haven't played DS III yet, it's definitely worth the $50 or so IMO.

Valve gave out more details about Artifact, including some public APIs and pre-order is up

I'm OK with the pack idea because I'm a _very_ casual MTG player with physical cards. After I get tired of my decks, I don't mind buying a $20 pack from a recent season to freshen up what I have. You don't always know if you're going to like the characters and levels in a PC game expansion. I guess if you're trying to buy a bunch of packs because you want a certain card, then you're gambling. I don't get into enough to be that concerned. I just want new cards after a while.
