After eating up lots of game studios Embracer Group set to close a bunch

I may not have a popular opinion here, but this is what I think.
The gaming studios that let themselves be purchased were either too greedy for the short-term benefits or did not have a hopeful future. Also, entertainment is quite a saturated market to compete in. Those two points make me realize studios shutting down is inevitable. When a parent company makes the unpopular decision to close a studio, they take all blame. If an independent studio closed doors due to lack of success, nobody would be mad at the decision (maybe sad though). But when it's a parent company responsible for financial sustainability, they're evil now, and it's their fault, even if they allowed a failing (or greedy) studio another chance.
When a studio is "gobbled up," it is their own choice to live and die by. The trend today is that it's cool to hate "capitalism," financial success, and large companies. Nobody puts responsibility on the small guys who exercised the decision making power they had.

I enjoyed Kingdom & Castles. I agree it was short, but that's OK because it didn't cost much.
I came into this article thinking I could skip the next one, but the trailer changed my mind. As long as it releases on GOG again, I will most likely buy it.

Quoting: WyattTurpinSince they added thier chat reporting, I refuse to play any version past 1.19. (Including 1.19.1 aka 1.19.84)Ha. I came in here to post the same. I was going to ask if I was the only one. Got my answer! Microsoft is too heavy-handed and big brother when I all I do is host a server for my kids and one of their friends to play. I enforce a user ACL, which is effectively the same as banning most of the world, thus I don't need this kind of surveillance and user reporting in the name of "protection." I am the one responsible for my server and interactions, not Microsoft.
Overkill drops Linux support for PAYDAY 2

If I set aside native support ideology and the way things should be, and think in practical terms, what I can work with now, it makes sense to support the company that makes games work on Linux. And that is Valve (who then supports other involved groups). That also means not buying anything on the Epic or Windows stores and then making them work.
Will I buy Payday 3? Well, I bet I will. The developer won't know a difference if I hold out. You know that 30% cut Valve gets that everyone complains about? Well, then make a native Linux game and release it on itch.io [External Link]. If you're not going to do that, then enjoy the 30% cut that I'm happy to go towards a company making gaming on PC pretty easy, Linux included. Remember LAN parties before Steam? I digress.

You still have to remove a package and add two more, which risks things not going well, but it was smoother than I expected.

Quoting: redmanP.S: I really really like to try Pipewire and see better Bluetooth, but don't want to mess the packages!! And don't have time to tinker with them, now a day I rather spend my time playing something that tinkering with the OS and packages!IIRC, if you're on Pulse right now, the only thing you have to do when you install Pipewire and remove Pulse, is to also install the Pipewire-pulse package (I don't know exact package names in Mint) to read in your Pulse config files. You don't have to make any changes to the config files.

I have the first game and never bought more because... this game makes me feel stupid. I mean... it made me realize I have a narrow skillset, and building structure is out of band.

Quoting: PenglingI'm glad you mentioned this, because I was patiently waiting for evidently nothing to happen! Ha.Quoting: whizseThere should be a page in the control panel. User CP -> Patreon LinkingAhh, brilliant! You are a saint, thankyou!
As you can see, I expected a note on the Patreon page itself, since the Discord part is over there.
EDIT: Cool, done, though for whatever reason I'm not on the supporters page and there's no badge yet. I guess that's a manual thing and I just have to wait?
SON OF EDIT: I figured it out.

Kinoite is the Plasma version of Silverblue that nobody ever mentions even though Plasma is just as popular.
I'm not too much of a fan of Snap, which is why the Fedora immutable desktops are a bit more interesting to me. But that has an asterisk as well: I don't like RPM.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I think the immutable desktops are best for the professional environment where you have a team creating and maintaining custom builds. I don't think it's going to take a hold on the home user. I say that, but my confidence is not rock solid. I'm curious enough to play with it in a VM and see how it develops. I can confidently say that I'm not interested in using it personally with my experience thus far.
EDIT: Just to add a little positive spin, I'll add that I'd be happy for immutable desktops to be successful, especially if they drove Linux adoption.
