Slightly off topic, but talking of Flight Simulators, how come we never get any news articles about FlightGear? It's supported Linux the longest and is open source :D

It's only 9.99/mo what's the big deal -- it's not like it's 100 bucks a year or anything

/sarcasm
For which my argument would be 9.99 over 12 months would be 119.88, so that's more than a 100 bucks a year :-P.

I really wish people would stop being sheep.

Thankfully it's a non-issue for me as I do not use Windows at all, not even at work (at work, computers also run Linux) so I can avoid Microsoft entirely in my daily life. Life is far happier when you don't have to deal with them or their OS.

Quoting: t3gI'd love if Valve updated the bundled libraries for the Steam client to Ububtu 18.04 in April.

Kinda pathetic it still ships with 12.04 libraries from 2012...
A lot of games are dependant on those libraries for various reasons and changing them can cause breakages.

If they were to re-base they would have to include the old ones for backwards compatibility with older games.

Though, I believe you can make games use your system libraries and steam as well, but I can't remember how right now, but I know you can :D. But be aware some games will break.

But I agree, they should include some newer libs but also provide backwards compatibility (I don't want broken games).

Yup, that picture is Gaben. His getting old :D. Not sure if he still uses Linux, he did for a while, but no idea if he stuck with it.

Also, I wonder who would take his place when he retires?

Powerless is quite possibly one of the worst FPS games I've ever played

Don't you think you're being just a bit harsh Liam? :D

You were given the game for free, you should be praising it :D.

Okay, so hasn't quite happened yet but probably will, due to Microsoft rumours tend to become true..

But I'm curious how badly will this affect Linux Market-share overall? How many people would stop using Linux once Microsoft removes Steam from it?

I was using Linux pre-steam so I would continue to do so post-steam and still not switch to Windows (I could never use Windows - It's confusing and highly annoying) but there are a lot of people that only started using Linux because of Steam.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens!

Almost can't believe Microcrap own Valve now :'(.

So, what's going to happen to the games we own? Are Microcrap going to disable the Linux versions? :-(

This is a sad day indeed!

It's time to bug Feral Interactive about future port requests once again

Don't we have enough games for our 0.02% steam marketshare? :D

But since you asked:
Dirt 4
Grid 2
Assassin's Creed (all, without uplay preferable)
Red Dead Redemption 2
