I like Civ games but I'm holding off on this one until the DLC thing is over and they release a "complete" edition like they did for V.
Currently, if you want the base game + all DLC it'll set you back 109 GBP in the UK (Converts to 150.69 USD).
Which in my opinion is way too much for a single game purchase. So yup, I'll wait for the complete edition. Plus it gives feral a chance to port all the DLCs :-).

In my opinion the steam survey is a highly unreliable way to count Linux marketshare (as a whole).
Firstly, it can only count those who have steam accounts. Not all Linux users have steam.
Secondly its numbers are way out of sync with everywhere else... 0.2%? Almost all other places rate us at 1-2% range.
In addition the data is incomplete, 0.2% okay, but 0.2% of how many survayed?
You could come to the conclusion that perhaps many Linux users are not using steam for verious reasons, No games of interest? Don't like DRM? Simply don't play games?
Lets not also forget there are a huge chunk of Linux users who'd rather game on a console, and work on their tux. Thereby again, not using steam.
Basically all I'm saying is you cannot draw a conclusion on Linuxes marketshare with Steam data alone.

Steam now has a form of platform-specific wishlisting, to help developers see demand

That excuse got shot out the water, the prices were lower than console so it was "well... I guess I can buy just this one game.. maybe that one too oh and that one.."
Next thing, I've got 165 legally purchased games and don't really pirate them anymore. :(.
But I'm still a pirate in other media such as music, movies and tv that'll never change. ;).

Quoting: nitroflowI used to do the exact same thing. However, my excuse was "Well, it don't support my OS (Linux) so why the heck should I buy it?".Quoting: fagnerlnSteam creates a bad habit in their users, me for example, I wait a price drop for at least 40% of the full price...WHich is not bad at all since before I used to pirate games and now I don't at all and spend a lot more then I used to.

New Atari console running locked down custom OS or windows? Meh
New Atari console that runs my favourite OS and can play my current Steam games? SOLD!
This could be good for tux gaming though, Atari still has a whole (now old) generation who follow them loyally who would probably buy this console regardless of OS, which means more Linux compatible games if successful.
Good news all round in my opinion. Now if only Sony would do the same with the Playstation 5 - Can you imagine it? The three major consoles becoming "Atari (Linux), XBox 1440(Windows, boo!) and PS5(Linux)"? Instead of the current (somewhat fixed) market of PS4(Running custom BSD) and X720(Running Windows 10).
But yup, looking forward to the Ataribox!

Not bad.. bu when you click "source of the data"
You get to this website.. https://www.truestats.com/?source=nmsHome [External Link] - it reminds me why I do so much to block advertising / tracking in my browser!
PS: Sorry Liam, I know advertising funds could effect you, but I probably wouldn't click ads even if I saw them, so no loss either way :P.

Nice!
Next up prevent spam friend requests. I get so many requests from random windows users it's not funny. Who wants windows users as friends? Not me!

Nice! I'll pick this up when I get five minutes to myself (I'm busy this weekend working on a new shop :-()
Also, it's got my vote because the Windows trolls[1] in the steam forum "Linux support?" thread are banned haha :-D. Seems DoubleFine have a developer there by the name of "Cheesiness" who seems quite friendly towards Linux and that's always a good thing to see!
Now they've finished with this, how about Brutal Legend 2? Hint hint ;-).
[1] The trolls were saying the same old stuff with the same old don't use Linux crap comments, honestly, it's like Windows trolls have a list they follow as they all seem to use the same argument. When will windows trolls come up with new arguments?
