Total War: PHARAOH announced - Linux port from Feral Interactive (UPDATE: incorrect)

To be fair, Feral ports for Toal War games all have the segfault crash that happens randomly. It's been in their games for years.

Proton/Wine + dxvk also works better overall. Sad but true.

I really like GOG and their no DRM policy. :)

I always buy from GOG if the game is available on Steam as well.

Offline installers FTW!

Quoting: 1xokMy first game was Tropico 5, which I even bought at full price. I can still remember hovering over the buy button for a while, wondering whether I should really do it.
Love Tropico 5 on Linux. Great performance too. Tropico 6 is also great especially since the base game has most of what you get in 5 but with dlcs.

Good Linux ports are rare but they do happen. dxvk makes up for the rest.

Looks cute and fun with a lot of polish on top. A pretty rare combo now-a-days.

Total War: WARHAMMER III for Linux updated to v2.2.0, Immortal Empires beta available

How stable is it?

The last patch for Warhammer 2 made it almost unplayable on linux because of the infamous segmentation fault crash error.

Also, Warhammer III patch 2.3 just released. I guess we'll have to wait another month and a half for that one. :|

Someone released the FOSS RTS 0 A.D. on Steam without speaking to the developers

I don't think calling this an example of the "perils of open source" is a good idea. It's abuse of the good will of others. Calling it a "peril" will only make people avoid open source.

In a capitalist market not begging for something and choosing a competing product works better than beging for it and not getting it both in terms of user satisfaction and as a persuation strategy.
