Being wireless puts me off a little, but the design is a hug straight into nostalgia.

Baldur's Gate 3 on Steam Deck is 'absolutely wild' and aims for 30FPS on Medium

Gonna have to remove a few games to play it on the Deck, although most likely I will mainly play it on the PC. I got it yesterday as well as for the same price they will upgrade to the deluxe edition, can't wait!

Sounds like a good initiative, and I hope it works well for them, although I'd prefer if the licence used was under GPL.

However, I would be much more interested on a subscription for a learning platform that would teach you the ins and outs of video game creation. Something like A Cloud Guru or Hyperskill, but specialized, and of course using as many FLOSS software and Creative Commons licences as possible. I believe there were plans to do something like this for Godot, but not sure if the project continued/expanded.

I'm not allowed to openly express my feelings regarding this topic, so I'll censor myself and will say; blimey! Not good :(

Fedora considering adding in 'privacy-preserving' telemetry
10 Jul 2023 at 12:36 pm UTC

Without entering the discussion about IBM, which I'd love but not here, would someone be able to tell me how independent is the fedora project from Red Hat? I know most of the engineers work for them, but being a community project, how much power do these have over future decisions?

Perhaps I've been out of the market for too long, but I find $329 for a case insane.

Steam Deck compatibility with Starfield to be discussed "later down the road"

I have mixed feelings about the scale of the game. This year, I was looking forward to the new Zelda, and I'm still like 15% into the game. The sheer vastness of the game means that I need to be on a very particular mindset to play it, which doesn't happen often. It might take me a few months more to get to the end. Probably better wait a bit on reviews and other stuff before jumping, but I must say that the game looks great in all the showcases shown so far.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 confirmed for a Steam release
22 Jun 2023 at 1:42 pm UTC

Quoting: DrNickI was excited when I heard the rumours, but I'm concerned that this is just a re-release of the same content already available on PC. I think a lot of us have been looking forward to a MGS remake for a long time and Konami doesn't seem to be willing to do anything about it. At this point I'm concerned this won't be just a set of emulators with locked down settings providing a worse overall experience.
Metal Gear Solid 3 has never been available on PC. There is also a remake on the making for Metal Gear Solid 3 (perhaps not the remake people wanted), and there are rumours that is only the first of the main trilogy because it makes sense chronologically. The code in the Konami's website apparently* shows that there will also be a Master Collection 2 including the never released on PC MGS4.

I also think Konami is full of crap, but saying things that aren't true won't help anybody.

Last, but not least, I'm always puzzled with the community expecting some remakes, and giving more importance to them that to new titles, like if was the only way for them to enjoy a game. Let's not allow companies dictate when is good to replay a game :(

* I say apparently because a few people said it on a Discord chat, but I haven't been able to find it.

EDIT: I'll be picking it up. Even though I find the €60 mark, in some console markets, very expensive.

AMD GPUs to get Ray Tracing turned on for Mesa 23.2

Quoting: ripper81358It is also one of the games that makes heavy use of raytracing once it is enabled. You are lucky if you can get the game running at good quality and performance without raytracing.
I must be very lucky indeed... I can play it at ~60FPS, more settings in high that in medium, and at 1440p since launch day... :O

AMD GPUs to get Ray Tracing turned on for Mesa 23.2

I have an RX 5700 (Not sure if XT), that means it does not have Ray Tracing cores, right? Would I lose a lot of performance if I were to enable it on a game? I mainly want to play Cyberpunk with it.
