That's really big. I kept forgetting to set the display back to 60 Hz way too often...

The sale includes some really awesome games. Too many to name them all, so I'll just list a few of those that I enjoyed:
- Drakensang is a pretty well done RPG using the Dark Eye rule set and setting. Platinum rating on ProtonDB.
- The Guild II: Renaissance. That's The Guild II bundled together with all DLC, for the price you'd otherwise pay for each DLC. It's an amazing RPG/crafting simulation hybrid. Sadly it's a bit buggy, and WINE also tends to have troubles with it. It seems to be running fine with Proton 7.x though.
- Valhalla Hills. It's an homage to The Settlers 2 and manages quite well to put a modern mantle on that game design. Wuselfaktor. Has a native Linux version.
- Deponia Trilogy (yes, there are 4 games in the trilogy). I did not want to mention those games, because everyone knows them already, but they are just too awesome not to. My absolute favourite adventure games. Native on Linux.
- Shadow Tactics. It's one of the best strategy games I've played. Similar to Desperados. Also native on Linux.
- Airline Tycoon Deluxe. It's mostly managing flight plans, but it's also hilarious. Linux Native.

Quoting: elmapulThat program didn't follow XDG standards [External Link] then, what is a far bigger issue than "just" localization. I have zero clue how Snap integrates with the system though, so I wouldn't rule out that it's a Snap issue either.Quoting: gradyvuckovicGood to see Valve taking this initiative. Never underestimate the value of localisation. About 95% of the world don't speak English as a first language, and 75% don't speak English at all.not to mention that some programs arent even tested on other languages.
Would be nice to see some more Linux distro websites translated as well. Hard to promote your distro to the majority of the planet if the majority of the planet can't read it.
For a quick sample, the following websites are only available in English as far as I can tell from looking at the homepage of their websites:
- https://linuxmint.com/ [External Link]
- https://manjaro.org/ [External Link]
- https://ubuntu.com/ [External Link]
- https://archlinux.org/ [External Link]
- https://www.centos.org/ [External Link]
- https://endeavouros.com/ [External Link]
- https://getsol.us/home/ [External Link]
- https://www.gentoo.org/ [External Link]
Shoutout to these websites for having numerous translations available on a visible dropdown on their homepage:
- https://getfedora.org/ [External Link]
- https://www.debian.org/ [External Link]
- https://www.opensuse.org/ [External Link]
for example, here i have an directory called "Music" and another called "Música" and the same for documents, pictures, videos and so on, why? because i installed some program that didnt considered the possibility of my system not being in english and created those directories as result.
i have no idea what program did that, i think it was libre office snap or something like that, something that definitely had to be tested (it wasnt too niche of an application) but wanst .

Quoting: BlackBloodRumIf it were only DRM one could just download a crack... Publishers got more creative than that in recent years, and started to force asynchronous multiplayer gameplay elements into single-player games...Quoting: soulsourceMultiplayer on a sim card? Yikes it'd be lag city on the UK networks, where I am we have flaky 4G that often drops down to 3G or even 2G :tongue:Quoting: BlackBloodRumI don't think Steam Deck 2 is any time soon, remember we're working on Valve Time here :tongue:That doesn't help with multiplayer or single-player-always-online-because-we-hate-our-customers games.
Quoting: tpauMore Open? That's one method of doing it. The other method (which I'd prefer, since a sim card would mean extra expenses) is to simply make the device work while offline properly.
Maybe the Steam Launcher will become partially opensource so people can integrate other platforms and it still looks like it was done by valve by default?
For Deck2 it would be nice if we get a sim card slot and 5g compatibility. So you can truly play on the road without having to go through the hassle of creating a wifi hotspot with your cellphone.
As for those other games.. yeah just don't buy those or if you do patch them or complain to the developers
Sadly that's an artefact of gamers being happy and accepting of always-online DRM saying "it's for the best".

I haven't played this for some time, ever since they introduced the "blue roads" bug [External Link]. For me that was too immersion breaking to enjoy the game...
