For anyone interested: Samorost 3 doesn't work with Proton 5.0, but it works with 4.11.

Tower Of God: One Wish, a nice casual match-3 game released recently

Quoting: TiedemannI'm addicted to match-3 so will def get this one too.
Then you could also try Stones of the Gods [External Link] - an old game but it has pretty graphics and nice music. The only problem is it hasn't been updated since 2011, so the Linux version only works on really old distros. But at least the source code is available. :D And the Windows version, although slightly behind the Linux one, works great with Wine - if you want to give it a quick look. :)

OpenRA for classic Westwood RTS games has a new build in need of testing

It looks like I missed their November 2019 update. Cool new UI! :D I'm rather terrible at (multiplayer) RA, so I'll skip testing their latest update but I grabbed their previous update and went for a few missions. :D Aaah... the feels... Not having to run the original game under DOSBox or a virtual machine, with the old and clunky interface on low resolutions is great.

But I wonder why their website doesn't have any info on how to donate them money. I went to their forum and found a topic about it [External Link]. Bountysource is fine to support the development of certain features, but people might as well want to donate for hosting or whatever else. Why would they only use that for income?

I wonder if they have any plans for Intel graphics.

Minigalaxy, the free and open source Linux client for GOG has a new release
15 Jan 2020 at 3:44 pm UTC

Sadly, it requires python3-gi >= 3.30, and Ubuntu 18.04 only has 3.26. The good thing is, by the time 20.04 gets out Minigalaxy will most likely improve significantly. :)

Quoting: NezchanThere are a couple of Elder Scrolls games in there (I saw Daggerfall and Redguard at least), and I dunno if Bethesda are the sort to just look the other way even if they're not still selling the games.
They're both officially free. :) I just don't know if they allow redistribution or streaming, but they probably won't make a case out of having them in streaming format on archive.org. We'll see.

"Monitors" should rather be named "Number of monitors", because it can be confusing. I was on the trends page (hint Ubuntu :P) and I thought the monitors trends had broken label associations and we got their indexes/IDs instead of the names. Programmer issue, but we're still people. :P

Atari VCS to start shipping in March 2020 (backers get it in December), with a new website and store partners
15 Jun 2019 at 2:27 pm UTC

Will you be getting one? I'm still doing my wait and see approach, not that I have any choice since they're not currently shipping to the UK to give it a review.
Judging by the specs, the promising thing is this:
8GB DDR4 RAM (upgradable)

However, it's weird that it doesn't have "ac" wireless. I also wonder if it has any other storage expansion ports, like M.2 or SATA - although M.2 would be more plausible for the console's size. I really don't like eMMC memory, considering we can't easily replace it if/when it fails, and booting off of USB isn't ideal in long-term. So an M.2 slot would be a huge selling point for me, and if it's missing that would be a big demotivator.

All in all, the specs are pretty nice and all I have to do is wait until someone gets their hands on it, tears it down and shows us what expansion options we have. Or I could direct my question directly to Atari and hope for an answer. :D
