Yeah it could be great. But instead you can't have this one until you have a Steam account linked to your Humble account. Need a Steam account + Humble account to have a DRM-Free game, ironic isn't it ? That's a shame.

It's quite bad... My future purchases will be GOG/Itch.io only i think. :><:
Yeah. The last free game giveaway was also like that, Psychonauts. I had to give away the key and then once the person activated it, I was able to get the DRM-FREE version of the game on HB.

I'm still sticking with HB, though but GOG and itch.io get first swing.
In case of Outlast the download buttons are available without having redeemed the keys (you still need to link a Steam account though). I haven't tried the DRM free download though (it could of course be that the buttons don't work or throw an error if you haven't redeemed your keys, but the buttons are there :) ).

The Humble Very Positive Bundle 2 is an awesome deal

Quoting: g000hYes, it cheered me up that all the games in the latest bundle supported Linux. Also... quite a few of them are DRM Free Downloads as well as having Steam keys.

For me, I've already got most of the nicer titles, namely RIVE, Shadow of Mordor, Oxenfree and will most likely get the lowest tier. So, anyone think Beat Cop or Death Road to Canada are particularly good (and why)?
Don't know how much it helps but Liam wrote a few articles about both:

Need to get the data files from a Windows game on Steam? steamget from Icculus can help

Quoting: MayeulCLooks like some people went all the way to reverse engineer the steam platform: https://github.com/SteamRE/SteamKit [External Link]

They also have a "Depot Downloader [External Link]". Which makes it a fully open-source (afaik) way to download steam games. Now, if only we could get a shim to make wine games work with the Linux client, that would be great :)
Someone tried to do something like that once (https://github.com/sirnuke/steambridge [External Link]. Unfortunately that project is dead (also I never tried it out so I don't know how well it worked).

Is there a reason for that? If you're waiting for more issues to be solved, fair enough, but if you're worried about being counted for Linux - just buy it.
I guess because it's only an unofficial release for now, which means it could still be dropped (even if it's unlikely).

The Frostbite engine apparently has partial Linux support but that doesn’t mean we’ll get ports anytime soon

While I also don't like EA (for obvious reasons) if they were to release games with Linux support I may actually (depending on the game of course) buy something from them. It's not like we don't have any bad publishers on Linux from which I bought games anyway.

Albion Online fixes lag issues that plagued servers

Quoting: MaelraneAs soon as I can play again (LIKE THE WHOLE BETA!) without having to manually fix a lot of stuff, I am in again.

Yes, Arch is not supported by default, but they broke it in May, not only for Arch and then a dev wrote "well, Linux is only < 0.5% of the player base", that nearly killed it for me.

I mean, taking money is all okay, even from a tiny minority, but then supporting the platform is suddenly not a priority, because it's so small a userbase? (the thread I talk about was opened in a very polite way on reddit and it was NOT about Arch, but Ubuntu afair)
Could you link that thread (if it's not too much work)?

Valve put the Steam Controller and Steam Link on a big sale again
3 Sep 2017 at 7:30 pm UTC

Quoting: saildataI've got to disagree on this one. I had one issue right when I got it last year, but that was just a firmware update that I believe impacted all OS. Other than that, it's been smooth sailing.

I wish I would have had a controller like this as a kid! The build quality is amazing, it feels great to play, and it can be infinitely customized.

I don't know what else I would ask for in a controller at this price ($58.99, Amazon, free shipping) or double this price. To me, it's apparent that a lot of work went into the design, form, and function to produce a controller that works with (almost?) every game I've ever thrown at it. /rant :P
Only thing I would like is a 2nd joystick (without removing any of the other control elements). Would be hard to put it there without the controller looking cramped but I'm sure they would find some way.

Quoting: saildataI meant to tag someone else.. but I already feel like this reply is a bit too long. Regarding the shipping - see the comment above regarding Amazon. That's where I got mine, and it's still sold by Valve, just a different distribution channel.
You could remove everything except the last reply from your quotes to save space :)

TINY METAL, a "spiritual successor" to Advance Wars has plans for a Linux version
3 Sep 2017 at 7:25 pm UTC

Quoting: scaineAdvance Wars was (and still is) a masterpiece. If this honours the mathematics of that title and gets its balance right, it going to be an absolute classic and I'll buy it immediately. But if they throw some RNG in there, it'll be ridiculed as a faithless clone. Time will tell!
Advance Wars also had some RNG (at least Advance Wars: Dark Conflict. I'm unsure about the others).

Little fun fact: The series is actually called just 'Wars'. It's just that outside of Japan (IIRC) only the Advance Wars parts where released.

Doesn't really look like "the latest graphical package modern hardware can provide" ;P

I really liked Advanced Wars so count me as interested!
