I was just thinking. I have my main gaming PC details on here, but I own a Steam Deck too. Would be nice to have an option to show you have both. As it is, the Steam Deck for me is a good way to show my friends what Linux gaming is capable of.. But I still prefer to game on my main rig most of the time.

Steam Deck 2 is absolutely coming, new booklet from Valve confirms

If they can keep improving and expanding support for titles, it will be relatively easy for them to resurrect the steam machine, except this time build it themselves... While they're at it they should show some love the steam controller.
In the last 2 years I've used my steam controller more than ever, to a point where it's starting to fall apart and I have had to fix a couple of issues on it. I almost bought another second hand, but I will keep my original running as long as possible.

EA, Epic and a bunch of other companies that slip my mind have done the same thing over the years. I don't particularly like it either.

Even Valve who I have more respect for have bought up Campo Santo the other year, I'm not sure if they've gobbled any more up.

Quoting: constI'm a little worried with the fast updates to stable, to be honest. Why is there even a beta channel if updates are rushed out to stable in days?

I get what you're saying.. But if it's a small change that fixes a big issue and they've tested in beta even for a few days and nobody had any issue, I don't see the problem.

I don't think they'd rush out a fix otherwise.

So the Steam Deck may have launched as an incomplete project. But man, they've been really listening to the customers and adding all these cool features that improve the experience.

NVIDIA releases open source Linux GPU kernel modules, Beta Driver 515.43.04 out
12 May 2022 at 10:38 am UTC

Oh wow, I totally missed this story yesterday. I have been sticking with AMD because of their open source drivers and how well it all just works. With this announcement I'm not totally opposed to getting a Nvidia GPU for my next upgrade.

AMD releases the Radeon RX 6950 XT, RX 6750 XT and RX 6650 XT

Quoting: TheRiddickAre these using 6nm or some other process which makes them easier to make over the original 7nm cards? Are these the relaunch of RDNA2 that has been rumoured?

Yeah they're just a relaunch of RDNA2 with faster VRAM and slightly overclocked. I think it's just a more advanced 7nm, they probably have better binned chips or something for this release. The 6nm and 5nm process is being saved for RDNA3.

Quoting: EnkhielAnother paper release. I couldn't be less excited :(

They are still stock at some of uk's pc component stores, which makes me hope that people aren't rushing out to buy these and any other overpriced GPU... They need to get real and bring the prices down.

Fortnite added to Xbox Cloud Gaming, easier than ever to play on Steam Deck

I really dislike Epic these days, and I used to be a massive fan. So much so that I refuse to install their store, even with the promise of free games.

Still, I can see some people love games like Fortnite, so it's sad that Epic won't just enable anticheat for Linux and be done with it. Playing games through streaming services suck in my experience.
