Wish they would reduce the memory footprint of at least the small-mode. So far small-mode still spawn all the webhelper stuff it seems.
On the bright side between a few .css tweaks and the trickle of patches coming in the new library becomes otherwise quite useable it seems.

Quoting: vildravnCould this be another hint towards the rumoured cloud service?
I'd assume it is more a let's-kill-32-bit (see e.g. ubuntu) fail-safe. Thoughts?

Just after I figured out how to remove some unwanted stuff myself ;-)
Good to see them restore some wanted functionality! There is still the a few hundred MB to much RAM usage in the standard library problem but hey at least we get a way to work around it now. Small steps but at least some movement.

Finally the right tool to download Firefox with!
I have been missing this feature since I abandoned that other OS and I am tired of having to put up with that version that my distribution dares to ship out of the box.
I want to go to their Website and download it myself instead of relying on some repository nonsense! My PC, my rules!
So THANK YOU Microsoft! You guys rock!

Anyone else having problems adding coverart for Non-Steam Games? Pretty sure it worked in the last beta but does not seem to work now that it is live.

Still not sure whether it is Baby's first UI-design or a case of to many cooks... either way: it is impressively bad, even compared to what we had before.

What are your thoughts on the current Steam Client Beta with the Library overhaul? If you didn't like it initially, has it grown on you at all? What are your biggest issues?
Not necessarily against an overhaul but:
- still hate the game icons in the list view on the left (take me three times as long to fingd a title without typing because my eyes get distracted)
- still hate the forced activity and news feed in the library overview and on the game pages (put that shit behind a tab, will you! and whytf has every piece of news and activity a totally unrelated picture attached to it?! )
- still hate basically all mouse-over popups (visual annoyance, performance hog, no useful information)
- still question existence of collection overview and collection overview button (what purpose do they serve other than provide useless screen clutter?
- still hate redundant buttons and menu entries all over the place
- still hate the performance (sure my machine is old but I can play current AAA games on ultra more fluently than this shit)

To be honest not sure how to salvage it. Visually they could go the route of allowing full customization of what elements to show, but performance wise they probably have to rebuild the whole thing from scratch and choose the right tools from the get go.

What baffles me is that there is basically no added value in funtionality for very little visual appeal and a whole lot of annoyances.

Interesting! Will have to see if I can squeeze it into my Halloween shopping budget, but it is tempting indeed.
