Go 4 The Kill is a CS:GO mod that makes the game a lot like PUBG

Seems to work decently well after turning off cl_disablehtmlmotd! Sadly my mouse is invisible while using inventory, but this seems to be a CS:GO bug and not related to the mod itself :(

Quoting: oldgaro
Quoting: elobut who doesn't have more than 8GB ram at this point?
Dont know, maybe 89% of the Steam users?
Very confused by where you get the 89% from. I might just suck at reading percentages, which is absolutely a possibility, but to what I can see from the steam survey 31,33% has less than 8GB ram!
Meaning close to 70% of all steam users has 8GB or more.

If we ignore the Windows and Mac results you end up with 44,14% of Linux steam users with less than 8GB ram.

I really wonder where you got the 89% from. (I answered myself in the edit)

EDIT:
I went back and reread my own comment and added a few words. Of course I include those who has 8GB ram as that's enough to run the game decently, but I did indeed say "more than 8GB ram", which I'm guessing you took as "Do not include people with 8GB or less". It was meant as "8gb or more", which I've now changed my comment to.

So, I went into the hw survey and checked what the results of my wrongly written comment would be. And, while you are closer you are still incorrect. 74,1% of steam users has less than 8GB ram (excluding 8GB ram too)

Survival game ‘Rust’ updated with a new Unity version & our server is now on a fresh map

Quoting: g000h- It gets very very dark at night in Rust, the night lasts for a substantial length of time, and the various light sources give very poor lighting. (The playing during night isn't so great.)
Craft yourself a flashlight for your weapon! Or make yourself a mining helmet. Night time is scary, but it's not extremely hard to deal with!

Quoting: g000h- It's fairly irritating finding some resources (e.g. stone). I know that you can get to know the resource spawn points over time, but there is rock everywhere and you can only pick up particular clumps of it. At least all the trees drop wood!
100% agreed and they are aware of this. The roadmap shows that they are working on more ways to get mined resources.
Quoting: g000h- The map only lets you view the immediate area, which means you can get lost pretty easily. (And no zoom.)
This is wrong, thank god, haha. You can right click to make the map interactive (zoom, pan and draw). Not the best controls, but the map is much better than what you think!
Quoting: g000hI don't mind the fact that I died, I mind the fact that the game is set up to enable such instantaneous kills to someone in armour. (It's a balance thing.)
What does armour mean? With proper armour you can take a decent amount of hits unless they headshot you (which has a crunch sound).

Quoting: oldgaroThis game is so fcking badly optimized.

I can play Witcher 3, Dying Light, Deus Ex on max/1440p and they won't require more than 3GB of RAM

This game is asking me 7GB on "beautiful"...

FCK U!

PS: I use a windows manager(Bspwm), not even a DE! ...RIDICULOUS!
I agree that it's way too memory hungry - but who doesn't have 8GB ram or more at this point? If you cannot add more ram to your rig, maybe playing with lower texture quality will be acceptable?

Quoting: slaapliedjeI really really wish they'd port Conan Exiles. Would love to have a GamingOnLinux for that one. I had tried Rust for a short time a while back but yeah it was very crash-y so I uninstalled it. I'm installing it again now.

I'd rather some more co-op with the environment being the enemy type game to be honest though. Does this work this way as well, assuming all the players don't want to just kill each other.
There are Rust servers where there is no PVP or limited pvp (only within certain zones or only within certain times of day). At that point the environment is the only thing to worry about, and I believe there are modded servers with zombies as well where the environment actually can kick your ass.

On the GoL server it's a good mix, for the most part friendly and honorable pvp and finding allies and friends to have fun with. Really recommend giving it a proper go if it's not crashing as bad anymore and talk to the people on the server! Just be a bit careful about who you trust because the server does not have any pvp limitations :)

ARK: Survival Evolved full release delayed until the end of August

Quoting: TrumpI dislike the devs of Ark and Rust. Both seem like assholes that do not consider Linux users even worth their time.
Well, I know where you're coming from, but of course, if they truly didn't consider Linux users worth their time, they wouldn't still be offering a Linux version, would they?

You only have to look at the Leaving Lindow developer to realise that we're lucky to have games like Ark and Rust at all!

This situation boils down to the harsh reality of trying to make money - their priority will always be their largest customer base. But yeah, I'd like a bit of consideration as a paying customer. Right now, it can feel pretty unfair at times.
Well, considering how bad (in my experience) the Ark Linux port is compared to the Windows version I don't really think you should consider it "lucky".

"Feeling unfair" isn't really the right either. It's fair that we don't get as many games. It's fair that some ports lag behind on updates. It's not fair if the game is runs and looks like absolute trash. Selling something that different (both visually and performance) shouldn't even be legal. Now, the Ark developers aren't really well liked on the Windows side either to what I've seen. Some devs are bad devs, that's just how the world is :)

I agree when it comes to Ark. However, the Rust devs seems like assholes in general. They do however seem to fix linux specific issue rather quickly :) The devs recently said that the game was halfway done, so I understand them being frustrated at all the people yelling at them.

Quoting: GuestYeah decay for solo players sucks hard man!
But happy to see some many people playing at the moment. The PVP has been crazy fun the last couple of days!
Yeah, been a lot of life on the server recently which is awesome!

However, the server is dead at the moment. It completely froze up rather late yesterday and haven't been able to connect since :(
