Can one actually play STALKER using this? Are there any forks of it?

I can't understand the problem with W4 games, tbh.
I mean, they wanted a way, aside from donations, to fund Godot. That's basically either using so called "intellectual property laws" to coerce people into paying for what's basically a post-scarcity thing (software) -obviously in case you want to use it) or offer paid up services that are actually based on scarce resources (they also offer multiplayer infrastructure as far as I know). The fact that the console walled garden model offered them a way to do just that offering the service of porting a game in exchange for money (the other way would be to give the binary for free, but just the binary). It's perfectly fine and this was advocated since day 1 as the model of doing business with free software. No "IP law" is going to stop you from doing the same for free or at a lower price, and people can joint develop a library for doing just that and keep it their secret or internal software that gets used to port to consoles.
People should be mad at Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft for the NDAs, not at W4 for offering the service of porting your game to their consoles for a fee. Were not for the NDAs, that code would be on mainline Godot

Secondly, my computer is not my private property, it's my possession. My house is both my private property (since it's registered as such) as well as my posession (for I ocuppy and use it). I'm in favour of the second, not the first. See this [External Link]for a brief explanation.
Thirdly, do not confuse capitalism with free market (link [External Link], link [External Link]). They're not the same and being anti-capitalist does not mean being anti market. I'm an anarchist without adjectives because I think that, should people be "left alone" to do as they please, society will be configured along both mutual aid and exchange relationships (link [External Link]).
Lastly, other people are DEFINITELY not someone's property, for that's slavery, and now that you seem to poke fun at poliamory, even though I'm no practicioner, let me tell you that I don't see anything wrong with poligamy or sexual relationship outside of the couple except in two cases:
The obvious case where the relationship is non-consentual, as would be should anyone "take" my gf/wife whatever.
If the information of that relationship existing is concealed from the other part, for that is a breach of the trust upon which the relationship is supposed to be built on.

Quoting: ElectricPrismFirst of all, i'm no Marxist, I'm an anarchist without adjectives [External Link]Quoting: robertosf92Not sure I wanna participate in the Capitalism and Economy fest tbh :grin:Well if you want to disolve all private property [External Link] maybe I can borrow some of our stuff ;P I can't wait to take our computer to the LAN party and I am looking foreward to using our car tovarish.
Has anyone seen our girlfriends and wives? Remember what's mine is mine and what's yours is mine too. You're the best tovarishes a torvarish could ask for.

W4 Games raises $15M to help push Godot Engine
8 Dec 2023 at 11:16 am UTC Likes: 1
They keep things proprietary because of the TOS of the console makers, it's not because they're trying to profit off Godot in some way (they're the original developers after all).
This is not a zero-sum game, the games made with Godot are still proprietary, after all. If you can find a market niche to raise money which helps Godot (and it's in your interest anyways because the more people use Godot, the more potential clients you may have), I see it as a win-win in the current situation, tbh

Quoting: GeamanduraEveryone's happy acting like Godot is getting 15 mil in development funds. But this money is raised by the W4 commercial for profit company plugged into the Godot ecosystem. And they're doubling the headcount at this company who are developing closed source for profit components and services around Godot. There's no guarantee how much if any of the money goes straight to the open source Godot. Now I'm not saying it in a negative way, they earned it and I wish them the best, and they probably will allocate some funds for Godot itself because they sound like good guys. But this is not straight up Godot development money. Not all money will go into Godot, but it might help Godot indirectly, by people using it more because of the services W4 provides.

Stellaris goes into uncharted territory with the Astral Planes expansion

Quoting: suchYeah, I'm not positive Stellaris 2 will come out in the near future, your timeline seems correct, seeing how they relased CK3 in 2020 and V3 in 2022 with no announcment of a new EU yet, it might come out at the earliest in 2025-2026 a whole 13 years after EU4, so maybe Stellaris 2 in 2030 is not that much of a betQuoting: robertosf92I kinda wish they stopped releasing this expansions, I play the game sporadically, and enjoy it enormously, but every time I want to play, there's something more I want to experience and for which I have to pay.It looks like they're shifting focus away from adding mechanics which might be evidence something is in the works. Same for EU4.
Please Paradox, release Stellaris 2
Mind you, I wonder if Paradox is feeling the extended development cycles, because EU4 is over a decade old and has dlc in the pipe for at least the entirety of 2024, it looks like - and going by age EU5 is the next one in line.
They might leave HoI alone for a bit longer as 4 is selling like hotcakes, but with how long we're waiting for a new EU... it does seem like the wait is far from over.
And then those barren dlc-dispensers will need to get fixed and populated, so... EU5 first actually playable release in 2028, Stellaris 2 sometime around 2030? Will we even live to see an EU6?
