Duskers leaves Early Access, here's a review

Quoting: PlintslchoThe game sounds very interesting indeed. However, I think a first person view or rather the view directly through the camera of the drones would've made this game even more immersive.
I agree, but that would have probably increased developement time and cost exponentially. Looks like a fun game indeed, but I will wait for a sale.

Some more benchmarks!
I used the data on opengamebenchmarks.org [External Link]
Ubuntu MATE 16.04 and Windows 7, no TressFX and FXAA

Some early The Talos Principle Vulkan benchmarks

Quoting: JSalemI think it would still be useful; ideally you should be able to see exactly where, in their automated demo, there are significant differences between the APIs. This would potentially be insightful for the developers themselves.
More data is always good (provided that the data is annotated clearly)
I'm sure the developers already have this data. They can use dedicated tools for the analysis. What I meant was that providing better in-game benchmarking tools for us "outsiders" isn't a good use of their time at this point.
I never mentioned asking other/better in-game benchmarking tools; on the contrary, it is possible already for us to look at the data

Quoting: JSalemIt would be really useful to have the actual frame data of the benchmark, instead of a short summary (average, extremes etc.). It would be possible to calculate other important metrics (median, for example) and have a more in-depth comparison of vulkan vs opengl vs dx
It's a bit too early for that sort of scrutiny. Their Vulkan backend is very much a work in progress, and you wouldn't get useful data out of the analysis.

EDIT: it looks like using voglperf (the 32 bit version) it is possible to capture all the frame timings... time to do some more benchmark!

This might be the first Paradox game that I'll play consistently; as many other people, the historical setting never catched my interest.

EVERSPACE, a fantastic looking 3D space shooter with roguelike elements coming to Linux

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTWhile waiting for the Linux version I could recommend you playing X3 series: I do LOVE that game! It's more a simulation but also the fights are quite fun. So the plan is:

Playing X2 until EVERSPACE releases and play that one until Star Citizen will be released. :D
It looks like this one is very different from the X games though

I am a fan of space sim/exploration games, and even if this is an action game, it is a sure buy for me. I'll try to play it with my hotas, and I hope it will support VR on Linux, that would be insanely cool!

Cities: Skylines updated with new map tools and tons of fixes

Quoting: TheBoss
Quoting: Mountain ManThe worst part is that the developers aren't even willing to admit that there's a performance issue in the Linux version.
Indeed, bit of a shame. They stopped replying to me once I told them there was an issue.
To be fair, it is possible that the cause of the bad performance on Linux depends solely on Unity engine, and Colossal Order cannot do that much about that. Still, it sucks.
Also, from benchmark data so far, it seems to be strongly dependent on CPU rather than GPU.
