I used to have an issue with one gamepad controlling two players - it's a whole new set of challenges for one or two players and can be fun on itself but made it impossible to play on 4 gamepads (2 just wouldn't work). I'll need to check it out again sometime soon, see if its fixed. Will probably update this comment after.
mod.io is a new open API for cross-platform Steam Workshop-like mod support

Wait... being an indie dev you now need to implement a modular integration for multiple workshops if you want to support e.g. mod.io and Steam? And mods from one system won't work with the other because of different packaging? I get the target audience is software that doesn't release on Steam at all but let's face it: most of games sooner or later does. Especially games from independent studios because these need money more than AAA molochs. Other than that, seems great for open source.
P.s. I get how people don't like gaming services getting "centralised" around Steam but it's often due to having a wrong idea. It's like saying PC is centralised around Windows.

Quoting: Patola"Medieval II: Total War is not available for purchase in your country." WTF? Yes it is! I can buy it via Steam! (I live in Brazil)Unfortunately sales are license based and either HB misconfigurated their sales page or they didn't obtain a license for Brazilian market, man.

Holly crap! They actually did it! I was trying to get them to package for Steam on their forums ages ago! Devs had to be convinced they won't be forced to use DRM, etc. They're good folks. Man, it's good to see them coming through with this! I stopped playing when I switched to Steam. Downloading now...
Party-based RPG 'Tower of Time' is now out in full and it's great

Can't say "I love DRM free games!" because I kinda don't care if it's DRM protected or not as long as it works on Linux out of the box. It's weird, though. I never noticed any DRM issues on my games, and I have all my games on Steam - theoretically a DRM platform. Either it works well enough to go unnoticed or it's nonexistent. I'm a bit surprised I never thought about it before.

I think there used to be a Half Life mod that presented Pirates vs Vikings (possibly Knights, can't remember). If it's a stand alone version or a spiritual successor, it might be good. That mod was awesome!

Battle Royale game 'Darwin Project' looks like it might actually be coming to Linux

That's not exactly what I meant, though. What I'm trying to say this whole time is the game should speak for itself, not some artificial PR terms.

Quoting: liamdaweOkay, I'm at work but I can throw some titles from the top of my head - I thought we all have them in mind TBH: Culling works on Linux, Minecraft had Hunger Games mode after the movie came out, my brother was playing Arma 3 and Ark with similar rules - these are either mods or built-in thing (don't know), isn't Rust very similar in concept (it's basically 7 days "battle royale", or however often they reset now, and I think they lately added gameplay mode with shrinking maps)?.Quoting: cprnYou see, that's the part I disagree with. If it's fun, cool as hell - I'm excited to play it too. But not because some media got caught in the hype built around a title and pumped it up saying we supposedly never had anything like it. IMO it's just not true. We have much of that gameplay already. It's barely innovative. It might be well implemented and worthwhile, I'm not saying it's bad game. I'm against repeating terms designed by PR people. Let's just wait and see if it's actually what they promised to deliver instead of saying it's new and awesome and oh-so-original before it actually gets here. Just a point of view to think about.Okay, I'm interested.
Link me some games that spawn you into the game from up high, that start you off with nothing and end with only one person that work natively on Linux that aren't the browser games we've already highlighted :)

Quoting: EikeAnyway, the most important question is: Is it fun? And I'd like to find out.Oh sure, with that I fully agree but I want it to be popular because it's fun, not popular because some marketing campaign says we don't have anything like it.
