LOL, IDK, maybe it's not the right place for this kind of bullshit but I value opinion of people I can relate to, like other Linux users who like games, more than some random internet pulp, so I wish we could make polls here:
I'd love everyone who read the actual mailing thread all this fuss is about to choose one in each of the following polls (@Liam, please make it happen for the sake of thought experiment if nothing else - I don't want to host polls on 3rd party questionable policy services that no one will visit anyway):
Do you agree with what Richard Stallman said?
Do you think he should be forced to resign?

- I agree with RMS and I don't mind the way he said it
- I agree with RMS but don't agree with the way he said it
- I don't care and I don't mind the way he said it
- I don't care but I don't like the way he said it

- Yes

The new Steam Library Beta is officially out for you to try

Oh, man! Steam lagged for me so badly yesterday just after update, and then when the new library loaded I thought something broke! Then I tried to run it again and it was lagging even worse, all the transition animations were hanging my system, until it generated its precious shaders or whatever it finished doing 5 minutes later... then it went almost smooth. It's perfectly fine performance-wise after disabling the extra news (it downloads stuff from store) and heavy animations (load up the CPU drastically on my machine, even though I have GPU acceleration on, GTX 1070). You can do so in Settings -> Library.
Functionality-wise, yeah, I agree, it's two steps back for us.

Roberta, a new Steam Play compatibility tool to play games with a native ScummVM

So... Steam Play is now a Windows games running platform similar to Lutris? Does Valve support any of the native versions of engines and translation layers other than Proton officially (as in: do any of the runscripts of officially supported Steam Play games run Roberta or Boxtron when you click "Play")?

Wait. So paraphrasing RMS he said "how about using a less guilt implying term" when it came to accusing a deceased (i.e. not able to protect themselves) faculty member that hasn't actually been accused by the victim of the crime... further along the discussion gave a dispute of a difference between moral and lawful definition of rape as an argument supporting that idea (because there are differences and if there weren't the law around the world would be unanimous on the subject)... and was forced to resign? For asking someone to change the wording of a Facebook event so that it'd represent the truth about the situation and not an opinion? Or am I missing something.

Yeah, heart about it on the news... and it's soon after some people died in Tatras struck with thunderstorm. Tragic, weather kills again and so close to home on many levels.
Quoting: KuJoWhew ... We don't have the words. Much too early. 28 years are no age at which one should go. [...]Well, you can like how the news was spread - tastefully and with sorrow, no words twisting, just a proper quote. Thanks for that, Liam.
Want a more up to date Proton for Steam Play? Proton GE has a big new release out

Now we need Augmented Steam [External Link] to show Boxter and ScummVM info on the game's Steam page as it does for Proton now. Obviously, it can't display ranking but a mere info that these compatibility tools can be used with a given title would be nice.
Screeps Arena, an upcoming strategy game where you program your units with JavaScript

If original Screeps weren't pay2win I'd be playing it passionately. It's a fine idea. I'd prefer it over Gladiabots where you can match against other teams of bots as well but the programming IDE is a node-based visual editor (you don't input code, you drag'n'drop building blocks).

It's a devrant material. Also, we're missing a facepalm smiley here.
Looks like we might see the end of developers constantly changing their Steam release date

Graylisting would make sense. Works with e-mail, I see no reason why it shouldn't work with other kinds of SPAM. My guess is if a publisher (or a developer but aren't publishers bit "more guilty" of this shady practice?) modifies the release date for any of their products more than X times in Y period of time the privilege of doing so will be temporarily revoked.
