Changing your country on Steam has been made harder to battle VPNs

for games and software its different and yes this makes sense. the subtly in the valve costing was abused by Epic and their PR against why they are cheaper and give more back to developers

Quoting: AppelsinI'm actually in favour of such a solution, as opposed to the blanket blocking of VPNs, which is how it's done by Netflix and their ilk. There it doesn't matter if you're VPN-ing from your resident country, you're still blocked on general principle.the thing about Netflix and co is they have to do it because of stupid licensing... Country-x might have the "rights" to broadcast something and as a result no one else may and that includes streaming. PITA but its stupid exclusive broadcasting issues.
That said, there may be issues of infrastructure and delivery (I can imagine some) that could potentially make this issue a bit more tricky to work around for a streaming service than a storefront.

Odd, nvidia here an no problems at all.
its nice, definite feel of the original but how they pushed it into the 3D is a bit clumsy. sometime you are looking around to find retical hotspot and then it's a bit clumsy to move around.
That aside a nice investigative walk/run and click adventure. Just going to "my" home to find out who's ID I stole :)

Really good trend data.
personally I think there are three key parts
1) shutdown and furlough of staff.
Since large sections of the world economy has been on shutdown, corporate machines will not be connecting to the internet and thus won't be logged. This will "lower" the number of windows machines being counted.
Where I work, 70% have been furlough'ed and the rest of us have been working from home. I have been going into the office one day a week but from home my work laptop (win10) has been on and equally my linux desktop ... so what gets counted ;)
2) Since january there have been some serious windows mistakes, not just security flaws but systematic changes which would stop things working. This may be enough of a push for people to try linux
3) general adoption is creeping up. Think about the "spread" of linux, it will be a sigmoid like Corona... we are slowly eating into the incumbent

I wonder if this is due to Corona and furloing of staff.
Business will have tonnes of windows machine for day to day usage. A large number of employers shut down operations not only due "work from home" but furlow. So a percentage rise could easily be a reduction in windows usage.
Whatever the reason, the result is good
