Quoting: mr-victoryAren't the recommended specs a bit high for a remake of a 25 year old game?
It's a complete remake not a remaster. All that's left of original game is a story and characters.

SCS put the Heart of Russia DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 on hold for now

Quoting: BumadarI also have no correct solution for it all, but I do feel that cutting the normal Russian off from the world (no google/apple pay/xbox/sony ps,no more games to buy on steam, etc etc) is not the way.
Business cannot be run on emotions and it shouldn't touch politics as well. Does cancelling of this DLC help one side against the other in the conflict? Highly unlikely. But it will surely hurt the developer.

Sanctions always hurt common people and elites still have money to buy latest iPhone or whatever. Political problems — a war is a part of politics — should be resolved using appropriate instruments like diplomacy and military power.

Quoting: CyborgZetaHmm. I do have the latest stable Mesa, but I also use the Steam Flatpak. One of the Flatpak runtimes I have installed is the Mesa 21.3.8 freedesktop SDK. Not sure which Mesa the Steam Flatpak uses.
You can see Mesa version with DXVK HUD.

So, what's the solution to the problem? Here's the thing: I don't think there is one.
The solution was created long time and it's called signed kernel module.

Are there any similar apps made with Qt? This modern GTK interface looks completely alien in KDE and I find it very inconvenient as well.

Wine devs were always reluctant on adding Linux specific code. Take Gallium Nine for example. But who cares about vanilla Wine nowadays anyway when we there is Proton and even Proton GE?

NVIDIA takes on AMD FSR with their new open source Image Scaling
17 Nov 2021 at 11:43 am UTC

Quoting: FredrikI hope someone ports the image scaling, I have been using fsr with proton ge but its very buggy.
I never hit a FSR bug in Proton GE. Works like a charm if a game doesn't do its own upscaling like Control.

Quoting: fagnerlnI'm curious to see how efficient those AC will be, I mean, as it's not as lower level in comparison to the Windows. It will be really bad if with this move, a lot of new cheaters start using it.
If it would be the case Valve may introduce AC kernel modules for Deck since they completely control the environment.

Proton Experimental gets more CEG DRM fixes, new fsync code

Quoting: LoftyDo you have to be in the steam beta in order to run the correct version of proton experimental ? I have the regular steam client running experimental and two games i have tried (hitman:absolution & GRID2) don't launch.

i wonder how long it will be until CEG gets into the regular experimental branch? I don't want to run the steam beta as i have had issues with it in the past.
CEG DRM relies on Steam client that's why you need to run Beta client. Nothing stops you from using any Proton version on stable client, but CEG-protected games won't work this way.

You can always switch between client versions back and forth if something is not working.
