The Steam Deck hit me over the head with feelings of nostalgia

Quoting: BalkanSpyDon't get me wrong, I really like the idea of an portable handheld PC and that the Steam Deck is a big success, but it seems kinda funny that many people prefer to play their games on a medium sized handheld device rather than their main gaming PCs.

I guess it's the novelty factor. :P
Or comfort, or social. One of the reasons I don't play often is that my PC is in our bedroom. It's like locking myself away from my family. Many nights are quiet phone browsing or reading with the family in the main room, with everyone doing this own thing but, everyone is together and there is something nice about that.

Dead Cells 'Break the Bank' free upgrade out, more big updates teased

Quoting: M@GOidI wished they made available a easier difficulty for those games. I managed to finish it twice, but comes a time it gets old dying over and over again just to see the "real ending", so I ditched it. After playing this and Cyber Shadow back to back, I got burned out of games with masochistic levels of difficulty.

The older I get, less patience I have with excessive difficulty in games. Not going to buy new DLCs for this one or any other game of this type from now forward. Life is too short to expand on games like this. Which is too bad, because it is a good game.
Yeah, I feel you. I'm really bad at this kind of game, so when I got it I was dubious if I was going to even get to the "normal" ending. I did, and even beat the game at 1 boss cell, but the true ending is only with 5 boss cells so I didn't even consider it. There are also enemies and game mechanics I didn't even get to see on those lower difficulties.

I am happy enough playing only this much, but still it is stupid that you can't adjust the difficulty other than by stopping early and missing stuff.
As someone who is also really really bad at these types of games, I feel you guys's pain. I've honestly held off on buying this because of the hype around the difficultly. Maybe we're not the target audience.
On the other hand I really liked Hollow Knight and it was stupid hard for me. Part of it was that it was so hard. I felt really accomplished when I finally beat it. I don't always get that feeling when I complete a game nowadays so maybe there is a place for supper hard games like this, just gotta be in the right mood for some frustration.

Intel Arc Graphics launches for laptops, desktop GPUs later this year

Looks interesting. I hope they keep at it for a while. I don't plan on upgrading this anytime soon, but I'd be excited to consider an Intel card ( along with AMD and Nvidia)

Europa Universalis IV Complete Collection available on Humble Bundle

Quoting: MisterPaytwick13'3 may be kind of small still. EUIV is fine, but the bundle is needed to get into it now. Classic Paradox.

Tho, I'd like to kind of modulate your words here, Liam:

Paradox has a good history of Linux support too, with this being available as a native Linux port.
Sometimes. For at least 4 years (from the top of my head, I could dig into my message over the Paradox forums and all to be more accurate), EUIV was broken for any cross-play multi for Linux users (they'd desync less than a minute into the game, as the underlaying clock system was broken for that much time)

Paradox support was "meh" to put it mildly here. They do try to support Linux well, and overall it is good. But here? EUIV was broken, yet HoI4 and Stellaris were patched for that very bug at most a year after it first appeared.
So question. Does this mean the game is less big free than Stellaris or CKII? Follow-up. You guys mentioned multiplayer. How is it for solo play? This is very tempting if I can play it alone while ignoring my friends and family, lol.

Valve actually announced Steam for Chrome OS now too

Quoting: mr-victoryThis situation sounds to me like this:
"Google vs Microsoft! Round 2! Fight!!"
Round 1 is obviously the market for smart phones. And we know the winner
That fights over, I think. I have a number of family and friends in education. I also moonlight at a local college. Google owns the primary school market in my country. Microsoft's position is they'll pick them up at the college and university level and they own that space.

It makes for some funny moments. Since new college students don't understand certain computer concepts, like saving thier work, having never had to do it before with Google. One of my friends, a university professor, almost always has a few students every year that lose their first paper because they never saved it when they exit Word.

I'm glad I've never had to deal with that. Hardest thing I run into is trying to update and make PowerPoints using LibreOffice, lol

I do imagine them increasing the power overtime, but I would guess that's part of a larger strategy to match the increasing demands on an online world.

I suppose current Chromebooks might make a good streaming client, right?

Quoting: denyasisI was always under the impression that most/many of the Chromebooks were lower powered ARM chipsets? I'm assuming this is for x86 systems only?
Steam for ChromeOS is only for a few select devices, the reauitements for Steam on ChromeOS is i5/i7 CPU and 7 GB RAM. So very few of the Chromebooks.
Oh wow, thanks. Yeah I'm pretty sure that's totally beyond anything or local school systems use. Everything's web based, so the systems seem pretty basic.
