Probably. I'm still impressed that there are games that are more stable or performant in wine than in windows.

Thanks!
I was able to find a "trial" version of the driver and it appears to load the driver. I'll think I'll have a nice day tomorrow experimenting!

Thanks for the advice, friends. I didn't get to try anything today, but I'm in "zoom based training" the next two days, which, according to my supervisor, should provide me with a large amount of mandatory free time to play with.

Question for you. I'm new to SQL so this might be dumb. The problem I run into is that the editor needs to talk to OpenEdge... From the 90's... I think version 10?

I know one can openquery, but there are a lot of draw backs, most of which involve my sanity.

I'm currently using MSSMS, which is nice. I'm no admin, I just do queries to pull data for various reports and visualize it in various maps using ArcGis. I'll have to look at azure too, although, I'm a little worried our new Sql database might be a little old. It's been running since 2007.

DBeaver looks really nice, I was just looking at it the other day. I will have to give it a spin!

I've heard of QGis. I'll have to check it out.

The Uno Platform (Pronounced 'Oono' or 'Ouno')
Wait what? I wasn't confused on how to say it until now. Is it not like the Spanish word? Or am I miss pronouncing the pronunciation? I'm so confused, lol

On a side note, I'm all for compatibility, even if it is with a platform. I seriously would switch to Linux at my work if I could replace my SQL management programs and our GIS program.

I'm sure my IT department would have a meltdown if I tried. I think they are straight windows from the servers to the desktops, with the exception of that one RED HAT server.

Ok, this actually looks pretty cool. I like the minimal interface.

OpenMW, the open source game engine for Morrowind sees great progress
30 Nov 2020 at 4:07 am UTC

Quoting: oldrocker99A lot of people aver Morrowind as the best TES game. The world is weirder, enemies don't scale, and the story is fantastic.

OpenMW just asks where your Morrowind installation folder is, and takes it from there.
IIRC, the enemies do actually scale, via the leveled list/creature system. The catch is that the scaling isn't universal or required.

This allowed the developers to make general tombs and dungeons that would still be challenging to the player at any level while still making specific areas off limits to low level players.

LL we're an awesome tool for the game, but for the original engine were also a bit of a headache for players running multiple mods as LL list entries would conflict and overwrite eachother.

And yes, I think it's the best TES game. It's actually one of my favorite games of all time and had been the first installed game on every new computer I've ever built until my most recent in 2018.

Quoting: denyasisThe GIS import seems really interesting. Imagine levels based off real world locations. Could be really neat for strategy and FPS and builder games and others.
I can imagine it might be particularly handy for the military/industry simulations whizse mentions.
That totally makes sense. I've seen some renders from GIS software and it looks pretty sweet.

Both Metro redux games are on sale for 3.99 each. I think I might pick them up along with Prey.

For some reason I'm really in the mood for some sci-fi shooters (I'm not normally a FPS person), but for less than the cost of a lunch meal, it's worth a gamble

I remember there was a way to import actual terrain maps into simcity 4. It was really cool to try to build a city where my home is.
