So what do you all think of the game, any good?

I've been playing through the STALKER series and loving it. This gives me similar vibes, which I like.

You and me brother. But don't dismiss it by the looks alone, first reviews are very positive towards it.
I have heard Sony's controllers are pretty good, as are Microsoft's. Even better that we can get them to work on Linux.

One the plus side, I'm glad it is getting support. The more controllers, the better!

Steam has a huge City Builder sale going on right now until November 10

Wow, this is totally my type of sale... Sadly nothing really stands out as exciting to me. Might be a good thing as I'm pretty poor.

Space Haven looks like it might be a good one. I'll have to keep an eye on it, especially if it dives hard into the minutia of building a ship. That would be awesome.

Gabe Newell of Valve is launching Gnome Chompski into space (yes really)

Quoting: whizseI wonder what it is with billionaires and their affinity for launching things into space [External Link]? Did Scrooge McDuck suffer from the same complex? What will I launch into space when my bank account ticks over nine digits? Serious questions these!
I mean, there was the Spear of Celine...

You might have a point.

Möbius Front '83 is a tactical turn-based strategy game from Zachtronics

For some reason, I want to try zachtronics, but the hardcore reputation that seems to come with the games intimidates me a bit. Now this is the kind of game a simple minded person like me could understand!

Crusader Kings III is quite a joy to learn, even if you're not particularly smart

Quoting: einherjarOh dammit, it is only in english. If I buy it, I will face the same problem. I surely know enough in german language, but english is another cup of tea.
Embarrassingly, I'm a native English speaker. Seriously impressed by you guys that are multilingual and a little jealous at your abilities.

Quoting: ExpalphalogThank you for this. Everybody kept raving at how amazing CKII was, so a few years ago, I picked it up on sale with all the expansions and bounced off of it hard. I didn't understand anything that was going on. I couldn't figure out how to do much, had no clue what half the icons meant...
I had the same problem, but with vocabulary. My education about feudalism (and most of Europe) was literally this... "Kings and Emperors are bad, so we left". So on top of learning what's was going on, it was like learning a new language. Retinue? Fief? Isn't Earl a tea? Duchy, that's like dutch right? Couldn't even tell you what the difference is between a king and an emperor? Do I want this guy to be a duke? And what is a duke? I struggled with even the basic concepts of things that existed in the game.

It was like playing a sci-fi 4x and being like "moon?, Planet? They look the same to me!"

I'll have to try CKII again. It seems so fun. I'll just have to take notes and make a dumb book.

Thanks, I tried to read a bit, but it was way over my head. I'm seriously jealous of this of you who can program and understand this stuff

Interesting. IIRC, the spectre type mitigations we're rather theoretical (although still possible). This stuff is a little over my head, but how realistic if an attack vector is this? Like visiting a compromised website or downloading a compromised file?
