Brilliant post, calvin. I think you just said it exactly how it is, without the unnecessary pessimism or unreasonable optimism that usually occurs widely among Linux gaming community when this particular subject is touched.
Is there a way to follow you somewhere, like Twitter?

Developer of 'Steam Marines' talks sales, Linux represented 2% over the lifetime of it

The Steam Marines developer actually cared and cares to support Linux and Mac, which are the minority of gaming market. He shared his numbers publicly. He contributes to the community that way. And this is what you think of him?
And what did you do to make our small gaming niche better?
Shame.

Quoting: LeopardWhat is that smug developer? You are insane. No matter if it's Civ 5, Deus Ex, Undertale or Stardew Valley, percentage share in sales will always be the same.
Just because you're supporting Linux and Mac people won't buy your shitty game.
When Witcher 3,Skyrim and Doom like AAA games comes to SteamOS and Linux people will greatfully buy them.
We don't need your shitty game(s).We're happy with Mad Max,Shadow of Mordor,Civilazition V and stuff like that.
He just sees Linux and Mac users for profit. His goal is not sharing a game's fun with platforms.
To him,Windows users are worthy. We're just leftovers

Quoting: AnxiousInfusionPeople generally reduce early access to "ea" which unfortunately gets easily confused for Electronic Arts. I wish I was smart enough to offer a better name.I believe the original term for that business model was "alphafunding". It was introduced by Desura back in ~2011:

I liked another game from Prison Run and Gun developer (Quantized Bit) - Volt. The level design in Volt positively surprised me and left such good impression that I will gladly play other games created by the studio.

They don't specifically state what game, and while watching the livestream they are doing, it wasn't explicitly clear if they meant Deus Ex: Mankind Divided would be updated with it, or a future port.It was announced literally a minute before you joined, Liam, and I believe they said that it's Deus Ex: MD that they are gonna look into in context of possible Vulkan treatment.
But better confirm it with our friends at Feral :)
