It's already possible to play Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Linux with Steam Play

This is one of the weirdest store pages on Steam. It has a purchase option for "Halo: Reach". It is also there as DLC, which has a store page that says it's a DLC and requires The Master Chief Collection. And the Master Chief Collection is a package that includes Halo: Reach. Ok then.

Anyway, never played Halo in my life, so nostalgia for me to worry about.

Quoting: Doc AngeloIt's just awesome that practical effects hold up so much. As a kid I always thought that the Enterprise in TNG was a computer generated model. But it's not. It's a real model.
True. Just look at that picture of the crystalline entity, it wouldn't have taken 10 years for that to look dated.

Quoting: Doc AngeloBut that shot is not CGI, these are models. Only 3 scenes in TNG were made with computers: https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/CGI [External Link]
And the page you linked lists at least 12.

Quoting: Purple Library GuySo, what about the cheating at cards? How'd that go?
It's basically a very hard variation of Solitaire (more like Freecell actually). To make it less brutal, you're allowed to move cards to a place where they don't belong, but then only allowed to move them away to a legal place. It's basically an extra rule to make the game more manageable.

Quoting: wvstolzingI remember reading an article a few years ago, which predicted that once raytracing of this sort becomes mainstream, and our eyes get used to it, even the cutting edge billion dollar production George Lucas CGI from the early 2000s will start to look like N64 graphics to us -- with all the shortcuts and brain-duping tricks they had to implement with the lighting -- not to mention games from earlier eras.
On the other hand. I've been playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider and while the graphics is very good, I've been having a lot of uncanny valley experiences. My only explanation so far is that the detail is so good, that your brain expects everything to look real. But the lighting isn't. Not even close. You can see it if you pay attention, but it appears I'm subconsciously aware of it as well. It actually makes me very curious to see what they did with RTX and if that would help at all.

Quoting: ShabbyX> If this is still correct and it has been a long time since you updated,

It would be great if this said how long a long time is.
... or if you don't click the link to remain in for 2 years.

Quoting: CreakI didn't know about the loyalty discount. Where do you find that?
I noticed it when it said -10% in the overview on the front page, but -25% when I got to the actual store page.
