I may give it a quick try at some point, but I don't see myself finishing it. I don't think my ageing 2080 Ti is going to cope at 3440x1440. Besides, I have a severe distaste for temporal artefacts and that's all you're likely to get from this.
And the video clearly demonstrates why artistic lighting is better than physical lighting. The carefully created mood of certain areas is definitely not preserved.

Thanks for the roundup. Hadn't seen it. Nothing native. And from what I see here, there's nothing that gives me the feeling that I would prioritize it over games I already have. Easy decisions!

Tried it yesterday. Not that I noticed any of the new features or changes. I don't even use it for what's it's meant to be used for. I kind of started using it to try out ideas, prototype things, visualize problems and whatever I need to. There are of course other ways of doing that, but it's quite convenient to have a lot of things integrated into a single program that doesn't require me to deal with dependencies.

Will have to see how these turn out, but at the price point seems pretty good. Would really like a slightly beefier XTX version, but that may not happen. Unfortunate that they make FSR4 such a big focus point. I consider all upscaling worthless, so no points for me. Awaiting some real world results!

My play for today was Deliver At All Costs. Good fun and well made game. Some GTA style driving but while delivering packages. Very silly packages. Combine this with some extreme destructible environment and you'll have a good laugh. Even a more serious story in there somewhere. The most shocking part is that it's published by Konami. I'd given up on them still publishing normal games.

Tried it last night. A 20 GB download for 30 minutes. I'm still heavily conflicted on this one. Like Talos 2 they went heavily in on the UE5 features which just leaves you with a ton of graphical settings that only lead to bad "graphics". To me bad graphics includes anything that leads to dynamic artefacts as these are heavily distracting. And that's exactly what upscaling does so I want to get rid of that. But that's not really feasible in Talos 2 and it doesn't seem to be here either. Whatever settings you choose, you're always greeted with some form of temporal artefacts and I'm quite done with it.
The original game has nothing new for me (I can finish it in a couple of hours), so the only reason that I'd want this is for the extra "DLC". I'm still debating whether that's worth suffering through this UE5 nonsense. At least we can hope that the money spent would go into the development of Talos 3.

"Lets build a demo and then throw it away after a week or so"Funny thing is that most demos are just delisted. Generally you can go to the SteamDB page, click install and it'll work just fine.
Amazon's previous VP of Prime Gaming said they "tried everything" to disrupt Steam

I find the "tried everything" very funny. They really didn't. Amazon stuff was barely functional at best.
Epic has a similar problem. When they opened their store they had nothing. Then they focused on being interesting to publishers instead of customers, so nobody really feels compelled to give them a chance.
I think the actual bigger problem is that they let Steam happen. For a long time nobody even challenged Steam and just let them grow. When the competition finally woke up, it was way too late. People had built up extensive libraries and Valve had acquired a good understanding of what the customers wanted. Too little, too late is how I would describe Amazon and Epic. They should have been there before 2010, not 2018 or whenever they finally started.

Interesting is that MR has a much larger player base than Overwatch 2, but OW2 has a higher revenue on Steam. Clearly OW2 is still fairly effective at squeezing money out of their small player base. My guess is that MR managed to pull a lot of player from OW2 that were unhappy about the monetization there, but these aren't the people to get a "good amount" of money from. At the end of the day, live service business is weird. Only a small percentage of players can be "convinced" to spend large amounts of money.
