I wonder if it's worth it to find some old microcode without the fixes. Turning off the kernel mitigations is easy, but this may need some research. But if enough was changed, it might be worth it.

Part of that co-op is the one player that starts the raging infernos, right?

I wish it would say what the fixes are, or link to a page or something...? I'm playing Oblivion so would like to know what this meansYou can follow the github link. Find the protonfixes part, find the steam fix for the game and follow the python files to where it leads. I guess maybe that's not for everyone.

Kind of a weird campaign to me. People switch to a different OS because they're unhappy. I did way back in 2002. I was annoyed by the direction Windows was taking for several years and at some point I lost faith that it was going to get better and gave up. I knew Linux wasn't perfect, but at least it was my own mess and I could do as I please. I still feel the same today.
But people still on Windows 10 are not necessarily unhappy. They just want to hold on to it and not move to something slightly different. The step from W10 to W11 is not bigger than W95 to W98 was. But the step to Linux would be quite big. I just don't see a "big" exodus from Windows happening. This is not going to get people to give up on things that they can't move over to Linux. That only happens when you are truly "done".

SteamOS 3.7.6 Preview for Steam Deck released, fixing a DOOM: The Dark Ages launch issue

I can't imagine playing Doom on a Steam Deck would be a particularly pleasant thing to do. Maybe OG Doom. Since it was designed, so that is probably a bigger limitation. Anyway, I'm with scaine on this one. Denuvo puts it monetary value at zero, so that makes it overpriced by definition.

The thing I like with logitech mice in combination with libratbag/piper is that they configure the mouse, but aren't necessary to make it work. I haven't reinstalled either on several reinstalls and the mouse still retains its setting profiles and key assignments. Going by the usage of "hrtimer", that is probably not the case for razer.
Still need to decide on a new mouse though. My current one is having right mouse button issues.

Very nice. I've been doing the 80% battery limit manually on my phone as well. After 7 years it still has about 97% capacity. For the most part I don't think skipping the top 20% will change anything for my Steam Deck.

@Corben To add some detail that may be interesting. I only seem to have screen tearing while in menus. So it "looks" like things are fine when fps drops below the display refresh rate.

I've been mixing up SteamVR and Monado usage for the past couple of months. For any game that uses OpenXR the Monado experience has been superior. Not that Monado is without issues. It lacks a proper configuration UI or Steam launcher. This week it just stopped working entirely and I had to rebuild the whole thing. Luckily Envision makes that relatively painless. For OpenVR games the support has been hit and miss.
SteamVR has been problematic. Async reprojection causes more problems than it solves in SteamVR2. And without it I get lots of stutter (freezes inside the HMD). Most notably when games are loading from disk. Pondering whether to go back to 1.27.5. Last time I tried that version the UI was entirely non functional, but at least no stuttering. And since I can use Monado for OpenXR, I don't really need SteamVR2.
Also had a weird issue with the headset this week: visible screen tearing. Had it in two games, one using SteamVR and one using Monado, so that leaves hardware or X11 as possible causes.

It looks like they mixed aspects from KSP and Space Engineers. Not the worst idea if that is the case. Will keep an eye out.
