Quoting: Corbenas a german customer I can't buy the Dead Island series through the steam store.Maybe someone can provide a secure proxy. In fact, you may even be able to get it done through a sourceforge shell.

I've seen this suggested in other places. Valve holds the key to success in their hands. If they wave a substantial portion of their fee for games that have proper SteamOS support, then the amount of money that developers/publishers could save would make creating a good port instantly viable. This could break the cycle.

Interesting about you results is how close some of those are between low and ultra. This really stands out in the last two graphs. This demonstrates that something other than the gpu is limiting performance. When I see the frametime graphs in the video, I find them very 'messy'. I'm far from an expert in gpu rendering, but I can imagine that this game is very much cpu limited and that the reason why fps is so close is actually the multithreading option. This could then also be responsible for the highly varying frame times.
Maybe someone with more knowledge can add something smart here.

Quoting: liamdaweThe main issue I have with using the threaded flag is that it's an OpenGL only flag (unless you can do the same booster on Windows it's a little unfair). It (some something similar) may already be on by default on Windows.

If the nut/snow clues relate to the story, then it's no surprise that nobody gets it.
Quoting: ellieferalThis one was on purpose, would ya believe it!That means that the web devs are not in detention. Any chance of prodding them to fix the radar on Firefox? Now I have to start up Chromium just for the radar.

Both appear to be 85% off if you own the previous version. A nice unintended consequence of the Humble Bundle from last week!

I have to agree that times are looking pretty sweet for Linux gaming. I ditched Windows over 15 years ago and for most of that time a few LGP games were the only real gaming I did. In just the last three years I collected over a hundred games and actually need to watch out I don't forget my other hobbies. Times of luxury!
