Celebrating 6 years since Valve announced Steam Play Proton for Linux

Quoting: woox2kPhilip (doitsujin) Rebohle might be the person behind all this by being a Linux user and excellent programmer who just wanted to play a DX11 anime game that did not work on Wine!

Valve bans keyboard automation in Counter-Strike 2 update

The thing is that the hardware can now update the firmware and put in some delays and randomisation that matches the best manual players, making it impossible to detect the difference. To a lesser the degree the MoveMaster changes the skill as well. There you can't actually press left/right at the same time, but it still takes a little time to switch between the two.

Borderlands 4 is coming in 2025

After the absolute disaster that was the Borderlands movie
And that came after the partial disaster than was Borderlands 3 and the complete disaster that was New Tales of the Borderlands. After that streak, it's hard to get excited. At least the gameplay of BL3 was good, so that's something.

I'm so far behind on FINAL FANTASY it's crazy at this point, ...
My number of played FF games is still ..... 0! And this has denuvNO, so guess the total will remain like that for a while longer.

shapez 2 is an absurdly great and accessible factory-building game out now

Played it for a couple of hours. Exceptionally high quality for an early access game. Nice that provides varies choices for difficulty. Both at the start and mid game. So far it mostly plays like the first game. I'm just getting into fluids, so that's a little bit different. I guess the biggest change is that you need platforms for building space.

Quoting: Eike.. no challenge, no satisfaction...

I'm not fully sure what I would expect from such a game, but this one didn't seem to provide it. I liked Infinifactory, because I wasn't sure I could build what's needed. I didn't get this feeling from playing the demo of Shapez 2. :-/
The challenge in the first game was getting to build the MAM (Make Anything Machine). I guess this game will result in a similar thing, but with more options to deal with. It's a design challenge instead of a combat one.

These new Factorio enemies coming in Factorio: Space Age look horrifying

Now we know why they developed all the new weaponry. Can't wait to test them out!

Valve attempts to deal with jokes, memes and ASCII art reviews on Steam

Quoting: neon_soaked_chryssalidI'm glad they're trying to do something about all of that garbage on the review page. The sad thing is that there was already a system in place to take care of it, the helpful/not helpful button, and most Steam users won't use it correctly. Hopefully the new system works a bit better!
To be fair, if you look in the screenshots in the article then you see that the top review without the new system has 14 helpful tags and the one with the system has 65. So just sorting it would have been better.

DOOM + DOOM II get bundled together with new enhanced versions

With all those (new) fans of original Doom, I wonder how many people know what it was like to play Doom originally.

AMD Ryzen 9000 Series processors dates and prices revealed

Quoting: Jarmerand these cpus are very underwhelming, so very easy to pass on.
How are they underwhelming? From what I've read, it's a major improvement over Zen 4.
Minimal performance gain over the previous series.

Power use is better, so I'd call that a big plus. Unfortunately idle power use is still too high on AMD CPUs.

Still can't seem to compete with the X3Ds though, so it'll be interesting to see what that could do for this series.

Valve working on a new game that could be Half-Life 3

There is only one thing we know for sure. It won't be called "Half-Life 3".
