Nice. If it's feature complete now, I should pick it up again. I left it a long while back because I couldn't really justify putting in all the time to figure it out when everything is still in motion.

Personally I am going to reinstall with the base Ubuntu. I am excited to try out the new Gnome 46.
Kubuntu looked less interesting to me because it is using using Plasma 5 instead of the newer Plasma 6.

For me it's kind of weighing plusses and minuses. I seriously dislike the tabletification of the UI that Gnome is doing. KDE is more a proper desktop UI and a much better usage experience. On the other hand, Gnome is just technically better. Everything feels faster and I have way less issues with the compositor. I can't even count how many times KWin restarted itself over the year I used it.

The one thing I like about this is that people that got FOMOed into spending money on "advanced access" can leave a review immediately. So now lots more people can see that the game is crap even before release!

I guess some people figured it out and refunded the games they finished in the three days of early access. I'm partly sad because publishers were really just letting people pay a bunch of money extra to not have their access delayed. Not fixing this hole would have killed that practice nicely.

I'm not a big fan of the new water system either. I get that the old one had issues, but the trader dependency was not a good choice. Honestly, most of the unbalance could have been solved by having jars filled one by one instead of a whole stack. Combined with an increased boiling time (as A21 has), it would have been fine.

Yeah, normally, I'd agree. But this is a game that's been in development for a decade. A decade. I think it's insane that I still get to benefit from the development of this title after all this time. Any other developer would have launched at A14 or A15 back in 2016, then started working on A16, 17 and 18, then launched that as a new game, and provided the money keeps pouring in, rinse and repeat.

Throw in the workshop support and mods like Darkness Falls, the value for money from that one purchase, £19 back in 2013... I'm blown away.

I'm entirely happy to cut them slack when they hit a few bumps along the way. But console owners don't see it that way. Despite the Electronic Arts model of re-releasing every goddam game year on year, at full price!

Gets even more complicated when you realise that the console version was a product of Telltale games that got lost in the bankruptcy of Telltale. Don't remember the details, but if memory serves me right, TFP could only buy the publishing rights back. The "legacy" version still belongs to other parties.

Let's hope "Coffee Stain and friends" will just all fall under Coffee Stain Publishing now. They seem to be relatively solid and appear to have been mostly unaffected by all the mess.
