Quoting: D34VA_That's more about the technical stuff. I meant a game where it should make a difference.Quoting: EhvisStill not entirely sure what reflex is supposed to bring me. Any suggestions for testing it?Use a camera and a wired input device. Record in high framerate (proper slow motion). The time between input and action can be determined by comparing the time between press and apparent action over frames per logical second.

The "you mad bro" is not entirely unjustified if you think about Epic trying to set up a competing store to Steam after almost 15 years of growth with only Fortnite as a basis. It also demonstrates that throwing lots of cash at it is not enough. Of course the fundamental problem with Epic is that they don't put the customers "first". They've been selling themselves to devs and publishers with only minimal effort to serve the actual customers.
Had to look up what the wolfire was. Weird one. The claim still seems to contradict itself.

Seeing a whole bunch of screenshots of 4:3 games stretched to 16:9 is not exactly helping me to look at this favourably.

This one is kind of interesting. It does depend on how MKB controls are implemented. We'll have to see. And maybe it's just me, but seeing upscaling mentioned as a feature is a big negative in my eyes.

But the world is a lot bigger and not everybody is going to be intimidated, so I expect we will see it again.

Quoting: Liam DaweAnd this is probably the biggest thing that Nintendo gained and probably was after all along. I suspect the knew that they couldn't really declare the emulator itself illegal and that it was just about the behaviour of the company. That explains why they accepted a tiny settlement. They just wanted to get rid of the emulator itself and put some fear into other parties. Which is a pretty big gain for settling a lawsuit that only applied to the US.Quoting: EhvisI think you understand what I am saying though. Maybe illegal is not specifically the right word, but the settling and the statement make it pretty clear it's tainted and should not be distributed by anyone.Quoting: Liam DaweThe case was settled. Nothing was declared illegal.Quoting: EhvisThe interesting thing will be what they do next. The code to both has been preserved and deleting all mirrors is something even Nintendo money can accomplish. So it's only a matter of time until builds will pop up somewhere (possibly under a different name). Will Emudeck pull those in?I think the EmuDeck developers would be pretty stupid if they did pull in some fork, they would be opening themselves up to lawsuits for facilitating what has already been basically declared illegal.

Quoting: pleasereadthemanualWhy would that be? I'm not a mac person, but I highly doubt that Apple would make it easy for software to run something at elevated permissions. So maybe the mac built is running with the same restricted "anti-cheat" as they did to support wine. If that is the case, some of these cheaters may just move over to try their luck on a mac. Maybe not as many since that would require a fairly significant investment.Quoting: shadownetdev1The stupid thing is that they already have a Mac client. Meaning that they have already done most of the work required to port a native Linux version.I'm not sure that solves the reliable anti-cheat problem they're having with Wine. Having reliable anti-cheat is likely much easier on macOS than it is on Linux.

As longs as devs/publishers believe that rootkit anti-cheat is a valid solution, this will always be a problem. It could technically be solved by making a rootkit specifically for Linux to bridge the gap. But I highly doubt that devs want to put the effort in and that Linux users would ever install it on their system.
