AMD working on an updated driver that will support FreeSync on Linux and wider GPU support

AMD is also working on slimming down the DAL for AMDGPU, which is now called DC instead of DAL, and may be ready by kernel 4.11, but that is speculation. DC is also supposed to be bringing AMDGPU to GCN GPUS's offcial, instead of through experimental support.

Looks like I need this!!! Hopefully AMDGPU + RADV is ready for CIK by release time, but probably not. May need to trade up for polaris or vega.

What one game would blow your mind if it came to Linux & SteamOS?

Quoting: psychodriver14 pages in and only 4 people have mentioned Half Life 3. Having that released as a linux exclusive for a week or two would be about the only thing that would blow my mind.

I think the Witcher 3 would be the most important port of an existing title.

I personally am sad that there are no ports for Path of Exile and Guild Wars 2.
Because I have lost all hope HL3 will ever come. I have been waiting for far to long. But seeing it as a timed linux exclusive title would be abosultely mind blowing.

Final Fantasy XV/Final Fantasy 7 remake and a porting of older Final Fantasy games that Wind*ws has received. I have been on a bit of a RPG kick lately. Maybe also the Tales of series. I would also like for Unreal Tournament to be in a working state on linux with the client complete as well. The lastest build with mesa 13.0.1 is full of graphical glitches, character models are rays of colored light the fill the screen when they are close, etc. It was working graphically on older build and older mesa some time ago, but performance was terrible.

Nearly 4 years later, Steam still won’t close to the tray icon on Linux without workarounds

Thank for this! I had always wondered about it but never cared to look into it. On my laptop with Arch and Mate I had to create a script file. Will do this with my Arch KDE install after work.

Hopefully Cossacks does well and they work on another, linux compatible, STALKER.

When will we see it on STEAM?

Quoting: sigzIs this game based on AD&D ?
No, uses it own system like PoE. For instance, spells have a cool down timer instead of # per rest.

I didn't get to play as much as I wanted due to being sick, but 3 hours went by like nothing. My weekend is shot and I am happy about that. I am loving this game.

Team Fortress 2, has fixes for Linux texture handling issues

I tried to play. I did get the whole computer crash (endless text in a tty). But the game would have long pauses, even going to a black screen every few minutes.
